Our Mission is to promote opportunities, which enhance the self-sufficiency of people to empower them to live and function independently.\n\nJob Description\n\nThe Community Support Specialist will provide community-based services to participants to meet a variety of needs. They will assist clients with housing problems, connect clients with resources, and provide supportive services to help them reach their goals.\n\nMinimum Requirements\n\nBachelor's Degree in Sociology, Psychology, or Counseling\nBe over 18 years of age\nPossess a valid driver's license\nPersonal experience of homelessness preferred\n\nCore Competencies\n\nCommunicates respectfully and effectively and establishes professional relationships through active listening and demonstration of empathy and positive regard.\nPromotes recovery, independence, and personal choice for participants.\nAssists clients in identifying strengths, needs, and realistic goals to develop a service plan.\nAccurately identifies risk and responds appropriately.\nEffectively teaches social skills and household management skills.\nDemonstrates knowledge of behavioral health symptoms, interventions, and impact.\nMaintains professional boundaries and operates within agency / ethical guidelines.\nKnowledge of agency and community resources and referral processes.\n\nJob Duties / Skills Required\n\nMaintains professional and ethical standards of conduct at all times.\nPromotes recovery, personal choice, and respect.\nProvides case management and supportive services (social skills, life skills, acquisition of benefits, community resource utilization, job search and placement, coping skills, money management ) for clients and arranges for the provision of services from community resources based on the case plan.\nParticipates in setting case plan goals/objectives.\nCompletes case plans with clients.\nInterviews clients and/or families and completes assessments and other clinical documentation.\nCompletes case logs and required documentation on all client services including data entry into required data systems.\nEnsures that clinical documentation and client files meet all applicable standards for licensing, accreditation, or other regulatory agencies.\nPerforms regular case maintenance activities including documenting actions, making narrative entries, preparing necessary reports and/or social summaries, etc.\nConsults with facility personnel and administrative field personnel; collects and analyzes data to identify needs for the assigned special services program within the particular service area.\nEffectively utilizes community resources by providing appropriate referrals and linkages.\nMaintains a clear driving record in order to be able to drive company vehicles to provide transportation to clients.\nAttends weekly and/or monthly staff meetings.\nProvides and submits at least 25 hours (100 units) of reimbursable services per week.\nSupports and encourages landlord recruitment and retention.\nActively seeks new landlords to provide fair and affordable housing opportunities to clients.\n\nBenefits include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance; disability and life insurance; paid time off; 13 paid holidays per year for regular full-time employees; and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer matching.","company":"Start","rawCompany":"start","city":"Eustis","state":"FL","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-09-04T11:45:51.339Z","occupations":[{"code":"21-1099.00","title":"Community and Social Service Specialists, All Other","slug":"community-and-social-service-specialists-all-other"},{"code":"21-1093.00","title":"Social and Human Service Assistants","slug":"social-and-human-service-assistants"},{"code":"21-1029.00","title":"Social Workers, All Other","slug":"social-workers-all-other"}],"industries":[{"code":"624190","title":"Other Individual and Family Services","slug":"other-individual-and-family-services"},{"code":"624229","title":"Other Community Housing Services","slug":"other-community-housing-services"},{"code":"624221","title":"Temporary Shelters","slug":"temporary-shelters"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Community Support Specialist","description":"About Start Corporation\n\nStart Corporation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1984.
