HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California.\r\nResponsible for directing and assisting quality teams in obtaining efficient operation of the quality activities.Responsible for directing all testing, product, and process inspection. This includes physical, chemical, metallurgical, dimensional, non-destructive testing, tool and gage calibration services. Supervises Final and Receiving Inspection, Calibration, NDT, Source Inspection, and other Quality personnel.\r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\r\nSetting, in concurrence with the department manager, quality metrics and ensure that these goals are achieved for the assigned areas\r\nDirect the quality teams in evaluating quality of products to meet the customer's quality and on-time delivery requirements.\r\nSupervise quality teams and individuals in compliance with company policies.\r\nEstablish and oversee performance of appropriate physical and/or chemical tests, inspection and calibration procedures.\r\nAssist in the preparation of written instructions and technical directives for test and inspection activities.\r\nParticipate in the development and execution of quality-related procedures and documentation based on Company, Government and/or Customer Requirements.\r\nVerify discrepancies and investigate its root causes.\r\nDevelop and implement quality control methods for all manufactured products. Conduct investigation to establish inspection and calibration procedures and performance of these tasks.\r\nReview Engineering packages to ensure appropriate inspection methodology.\r\nAssure that inspection and calibration activities are conducted in the proper manner and ensure the accuracy of inspection and calibration reports.\r\nSchedule/approve overtime, vacation and complete timekeeping requirements for all hourly employees.\r\nAttend daily Production Review Meeting.\r\nEnsure employees are taking all breaks and lunches within the required time period\r\nInterface with other departments to ensure short- and long-term goals and deadlines are accomplished\r\nWalk shop floor to ensure all employees are maintaining productivity standards\r\nEmployee relations: promoting teamwork, coaching and counseling employees\r\nEnsures employees are in compliance with all company policies and procedures\r\nCoaches employees in their continuous improvement efforts\r\nPromotes continual improvement (ABS) where applicable\r\nWorks in a safe manner that promotes the health and well-being of the individual and the environment\r\nDevelops and implements department training plans\r\nPerforms other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required.\r\nSupervisory Responsibilities\r\nCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\r\n,\r\nQualificationsBasic Qualifications:\r\nMinimum of seven (7) years of related experience or military equivalent service\r\nTwo (2) years in a supervisory role\r\nEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position\r\nPreferred Qualifications:\r\nBachelor's Degree from an accredited institution highly desired in Engineering or Metallurgy highly desired\r\nMinimum of 5 years' work experienced in a Quality Aerospace manufacturing environment\r\nCertificate from Quality Institution such as CQE, CQA\r\nBenefits/Salary:\r\nThe position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation.
