This temporary engineering position is intended for engineering students actively working toward a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Engineering intern will work in a team environment with the R&D Designers, Test Technicians and Engineers.\nFLSA: Non-Exempt\nJob Duties and Responsibilities:\nMake CAD design models using SolidWorks. Incorporate changes to existing engineering designs.\nAssist in the preparation of engineering drawings.\nProcess engineering design change orders.\nAssist in the performance of tests and experiments.\nAnalyze test data and write detailed test reports.\nEngage in business process and workplace continuous improvement activities.\nEngages in and actively volunteers for Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.\nParticipates in and sustains 5S Standards.\nMust follow all required ISO procedures, comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements, and adhere to SIG SAUER, Inc. security mandates.\nAssist in the manufacture of prototype parts and products.\nManage prototype parts and products inventory.\nConsistently follow safe firearm handling practices.\nFollow all range safety procedures when in any of the range areas.\nMust be able to travel infrequently.\nMiscellaneous duties as assigned.\nEducation/Experience & Skills:\nCandidate for Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.\nAdvanced coursework in thermodynamics, fluids, materials, mechanisms, CAD, or similar fields preferred. Prior CO-OP, internship, or design project work preferred.\nMust have basic proficiency in report creation.\nMust have basic proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Word.\nMust have basic proficiency using CAD software to create parametric solid models and engineering drawings (SolidWorks highly preferred).\nExperience using and maintaining firearms and/or related products is preferred.\nEquivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.\nWorking Conditions:\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.\nAbility to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.\nAbility to lift up to 25 pounds.\nMust wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.\nMust comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc.
