Job description:Branch Manager – Volpe Electric SupplyCompensation:The Branch Manager position at Volpe Electric Supply offers a competitive salary with performance-based incentives. Compensation includes a base salary plus monthly and quarterly bonuses tied to branch growth, gross profit performance, inventory accuracy, and operational excellence. Managers also participate in SPIFF programs on targeted product lines, lighting incentives, and promotional sales goals. This structure rewards strong leadership, sales initiative, and the ability to consistently improve branch profitability.Position OverviewThe Branch Manager at Volpe Electric Supply is responsible for leading the branch with a strong focus on service, accountability, and growth. This role oversees daily operations, drives revenue across all divisions, and ensures an exceptional customer experience that reflects the core values of the Volpe Electric Supply brand: professionalism, dependability, honesty, and a “whatever it takes” attitude.The Branch Manager acts as the central leader for counter sales, inside sales, warehouse operations, deliveries, and local business development—playing a key part in expanding our commercial lighting division, contractor base, and overall branch performance.- Key Responsibilities1. Branch Leadership & CultureUphold and promote the Volpe Electric Supply company culture at all times—professional, positive, and customer-first.Lead by example and set high standards for service, accuracy, and teamwork.Create a productive environment that encourages continuous improvement and accountability.2. Daily Operations ManagementOversee all branch functions including counter sales, inside sales, warehouse, delivery logistics, customer service, and product returns.Ensure the branch is clean, organized, and efficient—mirroring the standards expected at Volpe Electric Supply.Enforce operational procedures for receiving, order entry, product setup, and inventory control.Maintain proper opening/closing procedures, cash management, and safety protocols.3. Sales Growth & Customer DevelopmentDrive and support sales across all core markets:Contractors | Builders | Commercial & Industrial Facilities| MaritimeBuild and maintain strong relationships with local electricians, commercial accounts, marinas, and project managers.Assist with quoting, upselling, product recommendations, and job-pack solutions.Support growth of the Commercial Lighting Division, including leveraging:PSE&G Midstream ProgramJCP&L Distributor Incentive ProgramPromote Volpe’s EV charger program and help contractors understand how to sell chargers to their customers.4. Inventory, Pricing & Financial PerformanceMaintain accurate inventory, minimize shrinkage, and ensure correct product setup in the system.Review pricing, manage margins, and ensure branch profitability targets are met.Monitor sales reports, purchasing activity, and daily performance KPIs.Collaborate with accounting to ensure correct receiving, product adjustments, and data accuracy.5. Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead, train, and support counter staff, inside sales, warehouse, and delivery personnel.Provide product training, sales coaching, and guidance on Volpe Electric Supply standards.Manage schedules, workflow, and performance reviews.Foster a team environment built on reliability, respect, and professional growth.6. Vendor & Program CoordinationWork closely with vendor reps to coordinate product training, specials, lighting promotions, and inventory opportunities.Oversee lighting incentive compliance for PSE&G and JCP&L programs.Manage stock rotations, special orders, and vendor returns.7.
