We have the internal resources necessary to construct full turnkey railway projects for the Class 1, Shortline and Industrial markets.\nDo you thrive on driving a solution focused environment?\nAre you committed to delivering outcomes that exceed expectations, every time?\nDo you make things happen, get the job done, no matter what?\nJob summary\nMartinus Bottom Line are seeking an Operator in civil or rail construction to support our upcoming projects.\nTasks and Responsibilities\nMaintain a safety conscious work ethic.\nManeuver vehicles and other machinery around construction areas.\nPrepares a designated site for building.\nUtilization of construction vehicles such as Crawler Crane, Pile Driver, bulldozers, all terrain forklifts, mobile cranes, excavators, loaders, motor graders, backhoes and more, to assist in the erection and maintenance of structures as well as operation of hi-rail equipment, such as grapple truck.\nAre responsible for soil leveling or ground manipulation and for the transportation of equipment and materials at job sites.\nMay assist in the construction or repair of bridges, crossings, and railways, or may build private industry structures.\nMay operate machines that dig trenches, excavate construction sites, or lift heavy equipment, grade land or pave roads.\nShould possess acute visual perception abilities to accurately judge distances.\nA basic understanding of electronics to operate many of the newer vehicles designed with electronic controls.\nDaily equipment inspection and maintenance.\nUse handheld mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources.\nWill obey all traffic laws, ordinances, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.\nBe familiar with federal and state regulations as they relate to the railroad industry.\nAbility to update rules and manuals to assure continuous compliance with all railroad regulations.\nAdhere to and promote safe work practices.\nEffectively communicate with team members and customers.\nDesired Skills and Experience\nQualifications\nMust be able and have a willingness to work safely.\nMust be willing to work in all types of weather conditions**\nMust be willing to work a flexible schedule, on-call, nights, weekends & holidays**\nAble to work in a team environment and individually.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills, willingness to take direction.\nWillingness to tackle new and challenging tasks.\nRequired minimum 2 years experience managing a crew in a railroad related field.\nAble to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.\nEssential physical requirements, such climbing, standing, bending, twisting and lifting.\nExposures encountered, such as hazardous materials, loud noise, extreme heat/cold.\nTravel requirements as assigned.\nMust pass federal background check.\nAbility to comply with FRA 219 drug program.\nPossess and demonstrate knowledge of FRA 213 rules and regulations.\nEEO:\nEqual Opportunity Employer – Race/Color/Sex/Religion/National Origin/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Vets/Disabilities\nBenefits:\nMartinus Bottom Line and its affiliate companies offer an excellent total compensation package* including competitive salary, per diem, 401(k) plan with company match, available medical/dental/vision/life/disability insurance along with flexible spending and paid vacation and holidays.
