Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist - H.I.S.
Genstler Hearing Center is searching for a motivated Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS) with a passion for providing superior hearing care to patients and their families and who is interested in joining our growing hearing department. An ideal candidate will be able to self-manage, work independently and will have the desire and skill set necessary to develop and execute growth strategies, meet sales goals, manage support staff, grow our referral base and partner with us in providing premiere hearing health services to our community in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.
Patient care responsibilities will include hearing evaluations, fittings, dispensing & programming, follow-up care, as well as counseling and educating patients on the latest technology and solutions for hearing loss.
Responsibilities:
Establish rapport and a positive relationship with each patient & their families
Gather complete patient histories and conduct comprehensive hearing evaluations in accordance with industry standards
Accurately interpret hearing evaluation results and make appropriate recommendations in accordance with each patient’s needs & lifestyle
Educate patients on how to use & maintain their hearing aids successfully
Make accurate ear impressions & ear molds
Order hearing instruments & accessories
Properly fit & program hearing aids, including Bluetooth enabled devices
Provide appropriate aftercare for all patients including follow-up calls & appointments, adjustments, cleaning & battery changes, etc.
Generate & maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records in accordance with practice policies
Actively seek and facilitate referral business & positive online reviews
Partner with the practice administrative team to lead the hearing department in outreach & growth initiatives and to track and provide feedback on effectiveness
Develop and execute successful sales strategies
Maintain a clean, professional and welcoming work environment
Demonstrate the highest standard of patient care at all times
Qualifications:
Valid State License in good standing
At least 1 year testing, fitting & dispensing experience preferred
Proven ability to achieve sales goals
Computer competency - including working knowledge of common office software programs and patient management software
Possess exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to always maintain a positive working relationship with practice providers, co-workers & patients
Be self-directed, detail oriented and maintain a high level of accuracy in your work
This is a part-time position with significant opportunity for growth into full-time work. The successful candidate will be rewarded with a base salary + commission.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
