Choose MITRE for a career with purpose — and help shape the future.\n\nJob Description\n\nThe department researches, develops, and applies engineering approaches in the following Systems Engineering Areas:\n\nMission Engineering\nRequirements Engineering\nSystems-of-Systems Engineering\nEnterprise Systems Engineering\n\nThe department helps sponsors understand mission needs, translate them into clear and traceable requirements, and design solutions that connect people, processes, technologies, and systems. The department evaluates alternatives, interfaces, dependencies, performance, and risk to support informed design, integration, and investment decisions that improve mission outcomes.\n\nJob Responsibilities\n\nSupport Mission Engineering activities, such as, mission-thread development, operational scenario modeling and trade studies\nAssist in requirements engineering to elicit, analyze document and maintain needed stakeholder requirements.\nApply or gain experience in Systems of Systems Engineering to contribute to the architecture, integration, interface definition and interoperability analysis of independent systems\nApply or gain experience in Enterprise systems engineering to support enterprise architecture, capability planning, portfolio analysis and roadmap development to align mission objectives, organizational processes, technology, data and investments.\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\nMust be a student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related degree and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship.\nFamiliarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering or related systems modeling and architecture concepts\nFamiliarity with Requirements Engineering or an understanding of how needs can be verified, traced and made actionable\nDemonstrated ability to work effectively on multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.\nU.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain the required U.S. government security clearance\nThis position has an on-site requirement of 4 days a week minimum\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nAcademic, project, or internship experience with systems engineering, analysis, modeling and simulation, software development, or a related technical area.\nCoursework or project experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Digital Engineering, mission engineering, or systems architecture.\nExperience using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools for data analysis, modeling, simulation, or automation.\n\nThis requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):\n\nNone\n\nThis requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):\n\nSecret\n\nSalary compensation range and midpoint:\n\n$46,500 - $58,000 - $69,500 Annual\n\nWork Location Type:\n\nOnsite\n\nIt is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment.
