International Shipping & Receiving Specialist
Position SummaryThe International Shipping and Receiving Specialist will be responsible for the movement of goods in and out of the warehouse, including day-to-day small parcels and larger custom-built systems being shipped to customers throughout the world. The International Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for freight loading, unloading, stocking, and shipping and will support production and operations. This role includes scheduling shipments, preparing shipping paperwork including export/import documents, communicating with carriers and freight forwarders to ensure timely delivery of all products, supporting inventory management/control with cycle counts, and recording transaction information using ERP software. The ideal candidate will enjoy a mix of manual labor, communicating with partners/vendors/drivers, and detail-oriented, data-driven work in various computer software programs.Key Job ResponsibilitiesLoading, unloading, shipping and receiving of warehouse itemsPreparing and coordinating with carriers LTL, FTL, and small parcel shipmentsInteracting with the ERP system as it relates to shipping, receiving, and inventoryCompleting export/import documentsReceive product from outside vendors, verify counts, and enter data into the ERPCommunicate the delivery of high priority inventory to the team Maintain material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspectionsInventory cycle counts and physical inventory countsKeep inventory and warehouse cleanCommunicate with vendors/drivers daily, including via phone, chat, and emailFollow safety/company regulations on forklift/equipment Label, store, and organize material to ensure smooth warehouse operationsOther duties as needed to support the production and operations teams Desired Skills & QualificationsForklift certification preferredAbility to lift 50 pounds on a regular basisProficiency with managing shipping using an ERP system, including ability to enter and extract data from the ERPProficiency with MS Office Suite, including basic data analysis in ExcelKnowledge of best practices in global shipping/receiving, including ERP integration and warehouse barcoding to automate transactionsExperience quoting with carriers to find cost effective shipping solutionsExperience using shipping software (Shipstation, SureShip etc.)Knowledge of international shipping requirements and ability to independently complete paperworkSelf-sufficient, detail-oriented, and organizedAbility to balance speed with accuracyExcellent time management skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsProblem solver and team playerCustomer-service orientedEducation And Experience RequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or above strongly preferredForklift experience required5 years’ relevant experience requiredWorking ConditionsWork is performed in a warehouse environment / manufacturing floor. Level of noise is usually quiet in the office environment and temperature controlled. Noise levels are elevated in the warehouse space where temperatures can vary depending on the outside elements and weather.
