We have 90+ years of experience operating in multi-faceted transportation modes and are a dynamic and growing organization.\nEastern Express, one of the most experienced flatbed trucking companies in the United States, has an opportunity for a highly motivated, career-minded individual to join our team as an Operations Coordinator.\nThis position is full-time/on-site in our Griffith, IN office.\nIn this role, you will be part of the team that develops and maintains relationships with our driver base and terminal network, serving as the “first line of defense” in providing day-to-day operational support.\nIf you are looking for a challenging, constantly evolving work environment where everything you do has a direct, immediate impact on the company, this role could be a great fit for you.\nResponsibilities of the Position:\nAssisting drivers by responding to and resolving pickup, in-transit, delivery, and other operational and logistics issues and/or complaints\nHandling incoming phone calls and emails with driver requests (including some after-hours calls)\nProviding guidance/recommendations to drivers to help them maximize their business and leverage the most profitable geographic areas within our terminal network\nDistributing or authorizing funds to capacity providers and/or vendors in accordance with our policies and procedures\nReviewing our terminals’ and drivers’ utilization of Eastern’s value-added services and communicating additional opportunities to improve our collective business\nAnalyzing performance metrics and helping to implement strategies to improve operational performance\nAssisting/implementing new programs, software, and systems\nInvestigating and identifying new opportunities to strengthen Eastern’s operations\nUpdating equipment and drivers’ status/location\nSupporting managed accounts as needed\nQualifications & Interpersonal Skills:\nKnowledge of the transportation/trucking industries required\nExceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills\nAnalytical aptitude\nStrong communication skills\nAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment\nCollaborative, team-oriented, service-minded attitude\nProficient use of and ability to quickly learn a variety of computer programs, apps, and websites\nExperience with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and Outlook\nBenefits:\nMonday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (on-site in Griffith, IN)\nPerformance-based bonus plan\nComplete benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurances\n401(k) with company match\nVacation and holiday pay\nPaid parental leave\nPhysical Demands of the Position:\nWork is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
