The Controller will also manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, manage payroll, ensure contract compliance, and oversee the audit processes. The Controller is responsible for ensuring accurate reporting and effective financial management. The Controller will oversee accounting ledgers and reporting systems to ensure accuracy and full compliance with relevant GAAP standards and grant or funder requirements.\r\nThe Controller plays a key role in managing daily accounting activities, establishing policies, and enhancing procedures and internal controls.\r\nAdditional duties include\r\nMaintain accounting policies, internal controls, and asset safeguards.\r\nCreate, maintain and monitor annual budgets for the overall organization.\r\nAnalyze cash flow and project future revenues to ensure the organization maintains adequate liquidity for operations.\r\nOversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.\r\nDevelop and implement financial processes and systems.\r\nOversee processing of payroll functions on ADP, including implementation of promotions and increases, setting up benefits deductions, issuing provider payments, and ensuring administration of semi-weekly payroll and PTO management.\r\nDirect and supervise the accounting related work of the Office Manager/ Accounts Payable.\r\nOversee the reconciliation process, ensure the Staff Accountant is accurately entering data into Blackbaud's Financial Edge monthly, and verify that reconciliations are conducted on schedule.\r\nAudit and oversee accounts payable.\r\nGenerate monthly budget versus actual reports for program staff.\r\nOversee credit card policies and audit credit card activity.\r\nEnsure that Fixed Assets are accurately set up and maintained.\r\nExperience and Skills\r\nBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required, Master's degree a plus.\r\n7+ years of work experience in accounting or finance. Previous experience in a non-profit is helpful but not required.\r\nAdvanced proficiency with ADP to process payroll, manage employee benefits, and track paid time off; ability to utilize ADP's reporting module to track and monitor payroll and benefits expenses.\r\nAdvanced proficiency in QuickBooks.\r\nProficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)\r\nDemonstrated skill in preparing budgets and projections using spreadsheets and databases.
