Founded in 2004, HX5 is a fast-growing veteran- and woman-owned company with locations nationwide.\n\nHX5 is currently seeking a Structural Analyst to join the team with NASA at Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, TX.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nThe Structural Analyst will:\nStructural Analyst to support structural analysis tasks across multiple NASA Divisions\nUse stress analysis experience to perform classical hand stress analysis, finite element stress analysis and fracture analysis.\nBe familiar with NASA standards for analysis, including Fracture Control\nKnow and have experience with using NASGRO\nBe proficient in the use of finite element modeling techniques using FEMAP for finite element model development and NASTRAN for finite element solutions.\nPrepare structural analysis reports and work with other engineers to find resolutions to problems.\nPerform other duties as required.\nEducation and Experience\nTypically requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.\nMust have familiarity with desktop software applications, MS Office is required.\nMust have excellent oral and written communication skills\nExperience using FEMAP\n\nPreferences\nPrevious experience performing structural analysis on NASA spaceflight hardware\nPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work:\nThis is a full-time position and offers a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off).\nWork Environment:\nGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.\nEquipment and Machines - Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).\nPhysical Requirements:\nWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time).\nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).\nOther Position Requirements:\nProof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.\nMust be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.\nRegular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.
