Theatre: Marketing Assistant 26/27
This position is for the full academic year. THIS POSITION IS FOR UPPERCLASSMEN ONLY. FRESHMEN ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR DEPARTMENT POSITIONS.Expected hours of work per week : 10-15Work Location & Hours: Sanderson 208 or other locations as agreed upon, typically between 9-5, occasional evening rehearsal or performance attendance (flexible around schedule).Qualifications for Position:Writes well and enjoys creating contentEasily creates tasks and goals based on general direction and visionExcels in working independently, requires little supervisionInterested in learning about communications and marketing in arts or non-profit organizationsReliably follows timelines and meets deadlinesCollaborates and communicates well with othersPositive attitude and flexibility in the workplaceProactive self-starter - initiates ideas and gets help when neededOrganized and detail-orientedSolves problems creatively, sometimes in time-pressure situationsHours are typically 10-15 hours/week, with work completed independently based on a weekly in-person meeting and follow-up conversations with the staff supervisor.Helpful but not required: Coursework and/or experience in marketing or graphic designExperience with Canva or other design softwarePhoto editing, and/or video recording/editing skillsExpected Duties and Responsibilities: Creates daily (except Sunday) posts for Instagram and Facebook, including imagery/videos and written copyMeets with staff and students and attends rehearsals/production meetings as needed to get material and ideasCollaborates on creating social media posting plan and adheres to timelineCreates drafts of other types of written content (press releases, blog posts/articles, website copy, production programs, etc.) based on research and staff guidance, and submits by deadlinesSubmits production information to community calendarsHangs flyers/posters on campus and in the community (if they have a car)Seeks new opportunities for production and program marketingAssists with other aspects of production if necessary to work all awarded hoursResume skills development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed: Career & Self-Development, including identifying areas for continual growth while pursuing and applying feedback.Communication in the form of asking appropriate questions for specific information from supervisors, specialists, and others.Critical Thinking in the form of accurately summarizing and interpreting data with an awareness of personal biases that may impact outcomes.Global Literacy displayed by advocating for inclusion, equitable practices, justice, and empowerment for historically marginalized communities.Leadership through planning, initiating, managing, completing, and evaluating projects.Professionalism by prioritizing and completing tasks to accomplish organizational goals.Teamwork, including being accountable for individual and team responsibilities and deliverables.Technology by quickly adapting to new or unfamiliar technologies.Work Habits (with the alignment of Core Values) - The College asks from its staff members the following fundamental work habits: Do good work.
