You will be involved in the initial phases of large initiatives and projects, working with global product and engineering teams to solve complex business problems. In this role, you will be required to be part of early phases proof-of-concepts ensuring technical solutions are explored. Our ideal candidate will have expertise in a broad range of technologies, with proven experience in designing cloud-native architectures (ideally AWS).You'll be joining the Leisure PM&E (Product Management & Engineering) team, the engineering heart of FCTG's Leisure division. Leisure spans several major brands including Flight Centre, Travel Associates and Cruise About - operating across markets including Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Canada, the USA and South Africa. As a Senior Solution Architect in this team, you'll be shaping the platforms and integrations that tie this entire end-to-end experience together, as we move towards a unified platform powering our web, app and in store channels.Day to day:Technical solution designs that meet our complex business needs that are aligned to strategy, architectural and product roadmapsAnalyse business requirements and problem solve to create the right solutions for our customersDesigning cloud-native architectures with simplicity and reuse at the forefront of our solution designsSolution design of major software components, systems, and features including analysis, research, design, and documentation that fulfils business requirementsDocumentation and presentation of solutions in sufficient detail to allow an estimation of the effort required for deliveryPresenting solutions across our global architecture review board including security, data, infrastructure, and application architecturesCollaborating with Solution Architects, Technical Leads and Engineers to agree upon architectural solutions and standardsDesign and build cloud-native solutions including hands-on proof of conceptsResearch technologies and trends to contribute to our tech radar and solutionsSupporting Teams in understanding the dependencies between systems impacted by the solution to allow for effective planningAssisting Teams in identifying risks and issues relating to the solution and any dependencies on other initiativesSupporting the engineering teams in diagnosing and resolving architectural and technical issues in a consultative capacity throughout the projectWork closely with product to ensure our architecture roadmaps are progressively and incrementally built into our product lifecycleYou'll be perfect for the role if you have:5+ years' experience as a technical lead, software/solution/technical architect10 + years in software engineering with extensive experience working with cross-functional teams in building, designing, and delivering end-to-end solution architectureStrong experience with building, designing, and delivering cloud-native applications that are built for global scale, reliable, secure, and performantProven experience in solving highly complex technical and business problems and present conceptual information to all levels of internal and external managementExtensive experience in solution architectureStrong knowledge in architecture styles, such as Services-Oriented Architecture & Micro-Service based ArchitecturesExperience with data architecture, data platforms, tools, and data design conceptsYou love driving for technical outcomesExperience with databases and middlewareExcellent written and oral communications skillsStrong analytical skillsWhat you will enjoy:️Culture: you will be employed by an inclusive company that offers a team culture like no other in the industry - Flight Centre Travel Group Australia is proud to be a certified Great Place to Work Australia New Zealand Pty LtdOur People: FCTG is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourage all suitably qualified applicants to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People and people from racial, ethnic, or ethno-religious minority groups and people with disabilityDevelopment: Individualised, ongoing Learning & Development via communities of practice.
