The ideal candidate will also coach two seasons of middle school sports based on personal experience.  Additionally, this teacher will serve as an advisor to a mixed-grade-level, co-ed advisory group.Duties:Teach physical education classes 5th through 8th grade, including health and wellness, fitness, and sports instruction. Serve as a middle school advisor to support the academic and social-emotional well-being of students in 5th through 8th grade. Coordinate annual traditions such as Field Day for middle school students. Work with the department chair to meet educational standards and ensure the curriculum is aligned from lower school to middle school.Create a positive learning environment that emphasizes character development and sportsmanship.Coach two seasons of after-school middle school sports, which could include Cross Country, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, or Lacrosse. Perform assigned duties as determined by the Middle School Director or Associate Head of School for Finance and Operations. Attend faculty and divisional meetings, as directed. Requisite Skills and Knowledge:Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Master's degree preferredAbility to create and plan classes, lessons, and activities based on national standards for physical educationBroad knowledge of health and human fitness
