You will develop the applications that manage business processes, digitize new workflows, integrate systems across platforms, and help drive VulcanForms’ evolution towards an Industry 4.0 manufacturing environment. Success in this role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, comfort navigating ambiguity, and the ability to translate operational needs into scalable technical solutions.\nKey Responsibilities\nAct as a senior technical contributor and design authority across multiple software initiatives.\nProvide architectural guidance for new digital platforms, services, and integrations.\nEvaluate and adopt new technologies that advance VulcanForms’ digital manufacturing strategy.\nDesign, develop, and maintain web applications that support users across Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to digitize and automate workflows.\nDevelop automated reporting, task scheduling, and orchestration services to reduce manual effort and improve utilization of existing staff. When appropriate, identify, deploy, and manage open-source solutions to accelerate delivery and introduce new capabilities.\nServe as a technical bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams.\nLeverage CI/CD platforms, logging, monitoring, and observability tools to ensure system reliability and scalability.\nEnsure applications meet industry standards, security requirements, and compliance expectations.\nContribute to elevating team standards through design reviews, documentation, and best practices.\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of professional software development experience, with demonstrated ownership of complex systems.\nStrong proficiency in Python for application development, including unit and integration testing.\nEstablished experience with cloud-native and containerized workloads (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Nomad).\nExperience building backend services and APIs (e.g., Flask, REST, gRPC).\nExperience designing and integrating microservices and external systems.\nStrong use of CI/CD platforms and demonstrated leadership in furthering software quality practices.\nExperience with relational database schema management (Postgres, MS SQL) and storage systems (S3, NFS).\nProven ability to operate independently, lead technical initiatives, and work effectively in fast-changing environments.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working at digital-first companies or leading technology-driven transformations.\nUnderstanding of distributed and streaming systems (e.g. MQTT, NATS).\nExperience with service mesh and networking solutions (e.g. Consul, Tailscale)\nExperience with secret and identity management solutions (e.g. Vault)\nExperience with infrastructure as code solutions (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)\nFamiliarity with manufacturing, industrial systems, or Industry 4.0 initiatives.\nBenefits\nMedical, dental, vision, and life insurance are available to you starting on your first day of employment\nGenerous time off package, including vacation PTO, sick PTO, and company-paid federal holidays\n401(k) with company match and stock options\n\nVulcanForms offers a competitive salary and equity package.
