If you’re caring, dependable, and enjoy building relationships with seniors, this is a great opportunity to be part of a supportive team where your work truly matters.Position OverviewThe Personal Care Aide is a member of the Courtyards team who assists in meeting the personal care, social, and environmental needs of the Courtyard residents.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAppropriately assist clients with personal care activities in accordance with the personal services care plan including: Baths (tub, shower, bed bath), mouth-care, denture-care, skin-care, foot-care, ambulation, bathroom privileges (bedpan, commode, toilet), transferring, dressing & undressing activities, grooming activities, and positioning.Appropriately assist with household tasks directly essential to the client's health and in accordance with the plan of care, including: planning and preparing nutritional meals, assisting in feeding client if appropriate, light housekeeping of client's immediate environment, change linen, make bed, laundry of client's clothing & bedding.Count, dispense, and assist residents with medications; complete necessary documentation. Immediately report any changes in resident’s condition, incidents, or accidents, to the Charge person.Accurately measure and record oral, rectal, auxiliary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered.Monitors residents, recognizing and reporting adverse symptoms and reactions and reports unusual changes in status to the supervisor.Basic Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist with medications, may not administer, may remind client, read label for client, bring medications to client, position client. Client must be self-directing.Assist with feeding as necessary.Light housekeeping in client’s immediate environment.All others as assigned by supervisor.RequirementsEducation Required:Personal Care aides shall have completed an approved PCA training program.High School Diploma or GED preferred.Ability to read, speak and write English is required.Experience RequiredPrior experience working with the dementia resident preferred, and a genuine interest in the geriatric resident is requiredAdditional QualificationsMust be able to communicate with co-workers, residents, and the families of the residents.Dependable, prompt, tactful, patient, a desire to work with geriatric residents.Client-focused at all times, while acting as a pleasant professional is essential.
