QTEC Aerospace is seeking a TEST ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The chosen candidate will support the development of modeling and simulation (M&S) of threat software which includes designing, testing, analyzing, benchmarking, validation and verification, documenting, and integrating simulation products for the organization.Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:Testing new capabilities, documenting new features, and analyzing simulation performanceDevelop, document, and execute test cases, test scripts, and test plans to validate software functionality, performance, and compliance with requirements and acceptance criteriaSupporting agile software team within the context of a larger teamSupport the development of simulation and software architectureResearching technical details related to various missile defense systems to better support software development and testingExecute and support system integration testing, regression testing, performance testing, and end-to-end testing for software solutionsContribute to sprint planning by estimating testing tasks and working collaboratively with the team to ensure on-time delivery of quality deliverablesWork closely with systems engineers, software developers, and product owners to align on test objectives and outcomesProvide hands-on training sessions for end-users to ensure proper understanding and utilization of the softwareIdentify opportunities to enhance test strategies, tools, and processes to improve team performance and software qualityAct as an advocate for quality within the development process, promoting best practices for testing and validationMinimum Education And ExperienceBachelors degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and at least 2 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM disciplineRequired Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesMust be able to support an in-person/closed-area work environmentAbility and willingness to travel 10% of the time to support business needsFamiliarity with Agile software development practicesUnderstanding of software development and Linux platformProficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or JavaScript)Experience in Developing / executing test plans, Test Cases, Test Reports, Performance metrics and all the other basic Test Engineering functionsDemonstrated experience verifying and validating system and software requirements, ensuring traceability and creating detailed test artifacts (e.g., test plans, test cases, and test reports)Proficient in developing and executing test plans, test cases, test reports, and analyzing performance metricsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as neededSelf-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environmentDesired Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesExperience with Systems Engineering V-lifecycle processes, including requirements decomposition, verification, and validation to ensure compliance at both system and software levelsProficiency in developing and maintaining requirements traceability matrices and aligning test plans, cases, and reports with system-level verification objectivesExperience or knowledge of Bash, Git, Docker / Podman, Testing REST APIs Experience interacting with SQL databasesExperience in agile software development methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)Experience with large code base M&S systems using an optimistic and/or conservative discrete event simulation platformKnowledge or experience in several of the following: missile defense domain knowledge, command and control, and modeling and simulation developmentExperience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, confluenceFamiliarity with cybersecurity conceptsFamiliarity with DevOps principles / softwareExperience in Jenkins, Github, Bitbucket, SonarQube, CAMEO, C# / ASP.NET, Curl commands, Automated API testingMicroservices architecture understandingExperience working with CI/CD pipelines and integrating tests into the delivery processFamiliarity with API protocols and tools (e.g., JSON, REST, gRPC, Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI)Understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT)Security ClearanceCandidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.Salary RangeThe below salary range represents a general guideline; however, QTEC considers a number of factors when determining base salary such as the scope and responsibilities of the position as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
