DevOps Engineer with Kubernetes

Job Title: DevOps EngineerDuration: 6 MonthsLocation: Onsite 5 days/week - Philadelphia, PAWe are seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to support a large-scale infrastructure modernization initiative. This role will focus on migrating existing virtual machine based deployments to a Kubernetes-driven containerized environment, while maintaining and enhancing current automation and monitoring systems.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support the migration of applications from virtual machines to Kubernetes clustersDesign, set up, and manage Kubernetes environments, including cluster configuration and deployment pipelinesContainerize existing applications and ensure seamless deployment within KubernetesWork with existing infrastructure managed through Terraform and AnsibleEnhance and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practicesImplement and optimize monitoring solutions using the ELK stack (Elastic Cloud)Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve system reliability and scalabilityLeverage AI-powered tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to build and improve automation workflowsPerform system administration tasks, including Unix/Linux-level operations and troubleshootingRequired Skills & ExperienceStrong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (cluster setup, deployment, and management)Experience with cloud environments (private cloud preferred; public cloud experience also acceptable)Proficiency in Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure automationSolid understanding of containerization and deployment strategiesExperience with monitoring tools, specifically ELK stack / Elastic CloudStrong Unix/Linux system administration skills Nice to HaveExperience with OpenShiftFamiliarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) for automation
