Deliver the Standard.At Brown Button Estate Sales, our Online Estate Sale service is built on trust, clarity, and execution. Once a client chooses to move forward, the Team Lead becomes their point person—owning the project from contract walkthrough to customer pickup.We’re hiring a Team Lead to manage individual online estate sale projects in St. Louis. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can manage people and do the work (cataloging, photography support, logistics, and customer care) while ensuring every project meets Brown Button’s quality standards and deadlines.This role is best suited for someone who thrives on ownership, problem-solving, and bringing order to complex, moving parts.What You’ll DoProject Ownership & Process ManagementTake ownership of an online estate sale project after the sales call is completed and the client signs onConduct the contract walkthrough and serve as the client’s primary point of contactManage the full project timeline from start through customer pickupEnsure supplies, equipment, and people are in place when neededTrack daily progress (lots per day, photography pace, catalog completion) to keep the project on scheduleCommunicate project status, needs, and readiness milestones to the General ManagerUltimately be responsible for getting the project completed—jumping in wherever needed to make that happenClient Communication & CareMaintain proactive, clear communication with clients throughout the projectManage client questions, concerns, or issues in coordination with the General ManagerSet expectations clearly and kindly, especially during emotional life transitionsRepresent Brown Button with empathy, professionalism, and confidenceCataloging & Auction Standard (You Are the Backstop)Ensure the finished online catalog meets Brown Button standards for:What is included in the saleLogical lot groupingClear titles and descriptionsAccurate condition notesPhoto quality and consistencyThoughtful lot orderPerform cataloging work directly—especially higher-impact or time-sensitive areasProvide backup cataloging for any portion of the sale to keep timelines intactApply an 80/20 focus: more attention to the best items, efficient handling of lower-end lotsPhotography Oversight & SupportEnsure photography output meets Brown Button’s standardsJump in to photograph items as needed to keep momentumHelp stage, organize, and prepare items for photographyCoordinate closely with the Photographer to maintain pace and qualityCustomer pickup LeadershipLead customer pickup preparation and executionOversee:Lot labeling and numberingWrapping and bagging of fragile or multi-piece lotsOrganizing lots by pickup scheduleProvide calm, friendly customer service during pickup windowsEnsure fast, accurate transfer of purchased lotsConfirm customers receive everything they bought before leavingCoordinate refunds or issues with the Project Manager as neededTeam LeadershipLead a project team that includes a Cataloger, Photographer, and Project AssistantSet the tone for collaboration, pace, and professionalismMove team members between tasks as needed to meet deadlinesUphold company standards and core values on every projectParticipate in reviews, feedback, and corrective actions in coordination with leadershipSale Promotion & Advertising CoordinationCreate or approve the sale title, cover photo, and sale descriptionCommunicate standout items and unique finds to the Marketing ManagerCoordinate with the office on email timing and sale launch readinessHow Your Time Will Typically Break Down55% – Cataloging & Posting20% – pickup Prep & pickup Days20% – Process Management & Project Oversight5% – Client & Customer CommunicationWho You AreA natural owner; you feel responsible for outcomes, not just tasksComfortable leading and doing the workHighly organized, adaptable, and calm under pressureConfident making day-to-day decisions to keep projects movingStrong communicator with both clients and teammatesEnergized by variety; no two days look the sameAligned with Brown Button’s core values and service mindsetExperience with estate sales, resale, auctions, or inventory-heavy work is a plus, but not required.
