Operating in a mission‑based, fast‑paced environment, the Lead Engineer provides technical leadership to small and cross‑functional teams, contributing to breakthrough propulsion, power, and thermal management systems that advance the future of military aviation.\nJob Description Essential Responsibilities:\nAerodynamic design engineering ownership of miltary engine augmentors & exhaust systems including engineering design, analysis, and test support.\nSupport cross functional team as needed for augmentor and nozzle aero design & test monitoring.\nExecution of complex projects, while managing program schedule and financial work scope to meet business needs. Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned individual and team projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.\nComplete technical and program reviews with senior leadership teams & customers.\nInfluence, coordinate, and lead teams toward complex goals.\nDevelop action plans with guidance to respond to issues/ problems while proactively communicating with key stakeholders.\nLead or participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.\nRecommend, with guidance, the approach to meet the technical and program requirements.\nAssure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.\nQualifications/Requirements:\nBachelor of Science in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or closely related field of Engineering.\nA minimum of 5 years of relevant aero design experience.\nThis role requires the successful candidate to maintain a US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. Citizenship. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold US Government Security Clearance.\nDesired Characteristics:\nAdvanced degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering related to fluid mechanics preferred.\nPrior experience in the fundamentals of aerodynamics and compressible flows.\nStrong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems.\nExperience with design and analysis software such as Siemens NX, Ansys Workbench, Ansys CFX, Ansys Fluent, Python, etc.\nEffective in contributing in a structured, cross‑functional teamwork environment.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills.\nFundamental understanding of augmentors and exhaust nozzle system design.\nFamiliarity with aero design, tools, and processes.\nThis role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information.
