Incorporates the philosophy of the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College curriculum into the philosophy and practice of the particular sport. This is a part-time position during the sports season requiring weekend and evening work.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesServe as Assistant Coach for SoccerAssist in recruiting effortsAssists the head coach in scheduling and providing transportation.Assists in preparing events and practicesAttends all practices and gamesCarries out scouting assignments as outlined by the Head CoachProvide student-athletes the necessary time and resources to succeed academicallyPromotes the sport on and off campusMaintains good relationship with alumnus, parents, officials, volunteers and fansOther Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerforms other duties as requested by the Head Coach SupervisionWill supervise student athletes and may supervise student workersWorking ConditionsSame-day, overnight business, weekend travel.Outside conditions RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree preferredPrevious coaching experience in assigned sportRecruiting experience preferredSubstantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and examine new theories pertinent to the fieldAbility to work in a team setting and work effectively with a variety of audiences and departmentsUnderstanding of student developmentAbility to balance student needs and take on an institutional perspective
