This position supports the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center Combatant Command, Command and Control (C2) Division (AFNWC/NCC).\r\nEssential Duties\r\nMaintain common architecture products to describe Application Software Service and how it contributes to the holistic SMPES system/program.\r\nProvide technical reviews of design and development specifications of software applications and systems, and other engineering artifacts, and develop or maintain those artifacts as required in the systems engineering process.\r\nMust track and report information with common methods to maintain SMPES consolidated, agile backlog, release sprint tracking, requirement traceability, test traceability, and program-level metrics.\r\nObtain Agile Backlog information from supporting contracts and ensure the information is available in the SMPES PMO Agile planning tool (JIRA).\r\nMaintain a multiyear Application Roadmap.\r\nPerform system analysis and develop system specifications.\r\nSupport the certification, maintenance, and testing of software applications as well as the integration of complex software systems, and provide comments, recommendations, status, etc.\r\nSupport the delivery of software, installation, configuration, and testing, and problem resolution and maintenance, including all procedures/timelines to achieve approval to test and promote new or updated software to production.\r\nAdvise the Government to ensure compliance with applicable standards, participate in the development of new standards, and help improve existing standards.\r\nAssess technical and architectural changes for impact on IPT-specific software, other command-level systems, and the enterprise.\r\nAssess items such as processes, products, contractor-developed solutions, baseline changes, Service Now Change Requests, etc., and provide comments /recommendations.\r\nSupport development of program documents (support plans, strategies, assessments, requirements documents).\r\nUse approved processes (e.g., Systems Engineering Plan (SEP)) and participate in and provide support (e.g., prepare briefing or written material) for program management and technical reviews.\r\nSupport the Program Chief Engineer and engineering authorities as requested through the program office.\r\nPossess knowledge of acquisition streamlining initiatives and acquisition reforms (e.g., NDAA Section 804, DoD and USSTRATCOM initiatives).\r\nProvide direct support to the Test and Enterprise System Branch, working with the PM, FM, and Chief Engineer.\r\nSupport the Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) process for placing new deliveries into production.\r\nAssist in reviewing or proposing inputs to Requests for Proposal (RFP) artifacts and source selection-related documents such as Acquisition Plans, Life Cycle Management Plan (LCMP), and Acquisition Strategy.\r\nIntegrate user community requirements, desired capabilities, and characteristics to support injection into the requirements/capabilities generation, planning, and programming processes and documents.\r\nReview associated documentation and software for compliance with configuration management procedures, testing policies, and design as stated in current directives.\r\nProvide analyses of interface requirements for applications based on recommendations from modernization efforts.\r\nProvide full-spectrum support for the programs, including development of test plans and test reports, assisting and coordinating test events with interested parties (program office, contractor, user, AFOTEC, external agencies).\r\nAssist in the security evaluation of program information and hardware throughout the program life cycle.\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nApprentice : 0-3 years of directly related experience\r\nJourneyman : 3-7 years of directly related experience\r\nCraftsman : 7-12 years of directly related experience\r\nSME : 12+ years of directly related experience\r\nEducation / Certification:\r\nApprentice - Journeyman : BA/BS in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed; additional years of directly related experience may be used in lieu of education\r\nCraftsman - SME : Advanced Degree (MA/MS) in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed; additional years of directly related experience may be used in lieu of education\r\nRequired Clearance\r\nTop Secret\r\nTravel\r\nTBD\r\nBenefits Offered\r\nmedical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, parental leave, pet insurance, paid time off, and holidays.\r\nEqual Opportunity Employer / Protected Veterans / Individuals with Disabilities\r\nThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
