Each job must be performed with safety, quality and accuracy in a timely manner.\r\nResponsibilities include (but are not limited to):\r\nCreate quality welds and fit-ups according to drawing issued.\r\nInspect welds and fits for accuracy.\r\nPrepare product to be welded by shearing, bending, rolling, punching, grinding, drilling, tapping and cutting.\r\nChange out all consumables as needed.\r\nResponsible for proper packing, identifying and moving of all unfinished and finished products to the proper location.\r\nEnsure all equipment and product is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use.\r\nAbility to operate forklift.\r\nPerform first piece inspection as well as all subsequent inspection as required.\r\nMaintain equipment and request maintenance when required.\r\nPerform simple maintenance and repair as required.\r\nRequired to have proper and accurate entry into the time and attendance system.\r\nThe ability to adhere to all safety and quality practices and principles.\r\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of the standard tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the trades commensurate to assigned duties. Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the welding and fitting trades. Considerable knowledge of the properties of ferrous and non-ferrous metals encountered in welding/ fitting tasks. Ability to work with supervisor, co-workers, subordinate journeymen and helpers. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel of other departments. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to work from sketches, diagrams, blue prints, and broken parts. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing.
