As we experience rapid growth, we’re on the lookout for committed individuals eager to build their careers.\n\nAs a vital member of the production team, you will contribute significantly to our operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup and operation of grinding machines, focusing on grinding external or internal cylindrical and tapered surfaces of metal pieces. Prevision and adherence to instructions and charts during the grinding procedure are key aspects of this position.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n\nGrind external or internal cylindrical tapered surfaces.\nRemove metal by the application of abrasives which are bonded to form a rotating wheel.\nRough and finish flat, cylindrical, and conical surfaces.\nRead and interpret charts, drawings, and blueprints.\nDetermine product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be ground.\nCollect and assemble required products.\nDetermine grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels to be used.\nMount grinding wheel.\nDress wheel according to specifications and use dressing devices.\nPosition work rest to specified height.\nLift or hoist workpieces.\nQualifications\n\nEducation\n\nHigh school diploma preferred but not required.\nSpecialized Knowledge and Experience\n\nAbility to maintain equipment, including changing out wheels.\nAbility to inspect grinding wheel for cracks, or ware.\nUtilize micrometers, calipers, and preset gauges.\nSet up automatic work-feeding device.\nUse proper wheel guards on all grinding machines.\nGrind non-metallic materials.\nMust be able to interact professionally, appropriately, and courteously with customers, co-workers and other outside parties.\nMust be detail-oriented, with the ability to successfully follow through on assignments.\nUnderstanding of safety standards is required, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).\nMust be trustworthy, dependable, and able to work well with other team members.\nAbility to pass a Dye Check certification on the job.\nOther Skills\n\nMUST BE DEPENDABLE – Our customers count on us to get the job done and it takes every one of us!\nRequires the interpersonal skills to interact and collaborate with wide variety of internal personnel.\nAbility to problem solve and troubleshoot.\nMust be able to interact professionally, appropriately, and courteously with customers, co-workers and other outside parties.\nExcellent attention to detail.\nMust show concern for quality and practice continuous improvement.\nPhysical requirements\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
