The role focuses on the Water Resilience practice, including sustainable water management, onsite water reuse, resilient design, and green stormwater infrastructure.\n\nCandidates should have a strong technical understanding of the site development process and be able to manage their own design and CAD tasks. A good understanding of basic hydrology and water resource analysis and an interest in improving these skills through site development projects of various scales is required. Experience working on multidisciplinary design teams is preferred.\n\nIn addition to performing civil design tasks, the successful candidate will work closely with senior staff and be mentored in hydrology and hydraulic modeling, water resource engineering, GIS, onsite non-potable water reuse planning and design, technical writing, green infrastructure feasibility analysis, and infrastructure master planning. The expected tasks include:\n\nResponsibilities\n\nDevelop technical design documents, including construction document plan sets for site development projects\n\nProvide grading, drainage, circulation and utility design\n\nSet up design drawing sheets and manage CAD files for individual projects\n\nPerform hydrologic & hydraulic analyses and prepare stormwater control plans\n\nCoordinate directly with designers from other disciplines (e.g. surveyors, landscape designers, architects and plumbing engineers) regarding design issues\n\nPerform earthwork cut/fill analyses\n\nCreate maps and perform spatial analysis\n\nAttend design meetings and site visits\n\nDevelop green infrastructure design details\n\nPerform construction observation visits and write follow-up reports\n\nQualifications\n\n3–5 years working on site development projects\n\nBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering\n\nEngineer in Training (EIT) certification\n\nExperience producing civil engineering design documents for site development projects\n\nMinimum of 1-year experience with Civil3D modeling software\n\nStrong interpersonal skills are essential within our close and client-focused environment\n\nProficient in AutoCAD and plan sheet set-up\n\nProficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel)\n\nStrong initiative and technical problem-solving expertise\n\nPreferred\n\nExperience with LID/green infrastructure and water reuse projects\n\nPE License\n\nExperience on site development projects within the Bay Area\n\nMaster’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering (Water Focus)\n\nH&H modeling (e.g., SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS)\n\nArcGIS\n\nFamiliarity with Adobe Creative Suite applications\n\nPhysical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse, and occasionally lift, pull/push, and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations.\n\nWork Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting, high-strain, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be required.\n\nSalary & Benefits\n\nThe typical base salary range for this position is $105,019 - 128,057, annualized depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
