This is a full-time W-2 contract role.\n\nThe selected candidate will interview with ASI and work as an integrated member of the ASI team. W-2 employment, payroll, and benefits will be administered through one of ASI's staffing partners.\n\nAs an Embedded Software Engineer II, you will participate in the full software development lifecycle for embedded systems operating on autonomous robotic vehicles. You will develop features, diagnose defects, and integrate software across vehicle control, actuator, and sensor systems. With 3-5 years of embedded C/C++ experience, you bring the depth to work independently on complex real-time systems and the discipline to write clean, testable, reusable code.\n\nResponsibilities\nDevelop and maintain features for embedded applications on autonomous robotic vehicle platforms.\nDiagnose and resolve defects across vehicle control, actuator, and perception sensor systems.\nParticipate in systems engineering to ensure smooth software integration across hardware and software stacks.\nWrite clean, reusable C and C++ code following SOLID principles and established design patterns.\nBuild and maintain unit, integration, and system simulation tests with a test-first approach.\nContribute to continuous refactoring and use distributed version control effectively.\nSupport fielded systems and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve integration issues.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.\n3+ years designing and implementing embedded real-time software systems using C/C++.\nFamiliarity with large multithreaded embedded applications running on an RTOS.\nFamiliarity with electrical and mechanical systems.\nExperience with communication protocols such as CAN, TCP, UDP, SPI, or RS232.\nExperience with ROS/ROS2 or sensor interfacing including GPS, LiDAR, RADAR, or ultrasonics.\nExperience with Agile development, device drivers, or flash programming tools a plus.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to remain in a stationary position at a computer workstation for extended periods.\nAbility to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment continuously.\nAbility to communicate and exchange information in person, via phone, and through electronic means.\nAbility to traverse office, lab, data center, and field environments as required.\n\nAt Autonomous Solutions Inc, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace where all employees and applicants have equal opportunities.
