This individual will partner closely with executive leadership and oversee program directors across multiple service areas. This role is responsible for ensuring effective program delivery, strengthening internal systems, and supporting organizational strategy. The Director of Programs will also contribute to cross-functional leadership efforts, staff development, and external partnerships.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLeadership & Team Development\n\nDirectly manage and support program and department leaders\n\nProvide coaching and professional development to strengthen leadership capacity\n\nFacilitate regular management meetings and alignment sessions\n\nGuide program planning, goal setting, and outcome measurement\n\nPerformance & Systems Management\n\nHelp enhance and oversee organizational reporting and data systems\n\nSupport continuous improvement of program performance tracking\n\nDrive adoption and optimization of internal database tools\n\nEnsure effective use of data to inform decision-making\n\nOrganizational Culture & Operations\n\nPromote a collaborative, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace\n\nLead or support organization-wide initiatives such as retreats, staff engagement efforts, and internal events\n\nPartner with executive leadership on developing policies and operational practices\n\nEnsure consistent implementation of internal procedures across teams\n\nOversee compliance-related training and requirements\n\nExternal Engagement\n\nSupport grant writing, reporting, and funding efforts\n\nRepresent the organization with community partners, funders, and stakeholders\n\nBuild and maintain key external relationships\n\nEngage with local education and community partners as needed\n\nBoard Engagement\n\nServe as a supporting liaison to the Board of Directors\n\nAssist with committee coordination, meeting preparation, and follow-up actions\n\nSupport communication between board members and program staff\n\nEnsure program updates and organizational initiatives are clearly communicated\n\nAdditional Responsibilities\n\nParticipate in advocacy and community engagement initiatives\n\nContribute to strategic organizational priorities\n\nTake on additional duties as needed to support the mission\n\nQualifications\n\nGraduate degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit leadership or a related field\n\nSignificant experience overseeing programs and teams in a dynamic environment\n\nStrong leadership skills with a focus on coaching and development\n\nProven ability to manage complex initiatives and multiple priorities\n\nSound judgment and ability to navigate challenging decisions\n\nCollaborative and adaptable working style\n\nExcellent communication and presentation skills\n\nStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across stakeholders\n\nCommitment to equity, inclusion, and mission-driven work\n\nAbout the Organization\nThis established, community-focused nonprofit serves thousands of children, youth, and families across diverse backgrounds each year.
