Equipment Operator
Join our team! We are looking for experienced heavy equipment operators for front end loader, trackhoe, and compactor.
Heavy equipment operators must have a minimum of 2 years experience in 1 or more of the following tasks:
Site grading
Utility excavation
Other tasks could include but are not limited to operating other heavy equipment and other construction related duties, as required. Other construction related duties could include laboring with shovels, brooms, setting blue tops and grade stakes, adjusting manholes and valve boxes to grade.
The following are required to enable position holders to perform the primary tasks of the position:
1. Skills/Knowledge
Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills
Highly reliable, team player, ability to work well with others
Ability to read operating instructions and complete pre-shift and post shift inspections.
Basic math skills, and capable of reading plans, grade stakes, and set blue tops
2. Experience/education:
Must have a minimum of 2 years experience.
High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
3. Physical requirements:
Ability to lift 45 pounds
Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
4. Visual acuity, hearing, speaking
Good Communication and must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits
Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
Ability to communicate with customers, inspectors, and testing firms
Ability to read operating instructions and complete pre-shift and post shift inspections.
Must be able to communicate in English
Must be able to visually identify potential hazards to themselves and others around them
Must be able to follow supervisor’s instructions without constant supervision
5. Environment and scheduling:
Must be able to work 8-10 hours shifts, 5 days per week
Must be willing to work overtime and Saturday’s, as needed
Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
Must be able to start work at 7:00 AM
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noise
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
