{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"2b6a6add3a7dd21042b4845f","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/2b6a6add3a7dd21042b4845f","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/2b6a6add3a7dd21042b4845f","title":"Locksmith","description":"Days per Year: 260\r\nMin: $41,600\r\nMid: $48,942\r\nJOB DESCRIPTION\r\nJOB TITLE: Locksmith\r\nREPORT TO: Director of Maintenance\r\nWAGE/HOUR STATUS: Nonexempt\r\nPAY GRADE: Aux 7\r\nPRIMARY PURPOSE\r\nThe Locksmith is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of all District facilities in relation to administering the District's lock program; performs all related work as required or assigned.\r\nAll employees of SISD are expected to act with integrity, support organizational goals, communicate in a clear and respectful manner, championing the needs of our students and drive continuous improvement.\r\nQUALIFICATIONS\r\nRequired\r\n\r\nHigh School graduate or GED\r\nValid Texas Driver's license\r\nFive years of progressively more responsible experience in the Locksmith industry\r\nFive job related experience\r\nMust have the ability to be licensed\r\n\r\nPreferred\r\n\r\nFive+ years of progressively more responsible experience in the Locksmith industry\r\nMember of and certification by Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA)\r\n\r\nSPECIAL NOWLEDGE/SKILLS:\r\n\r\nPossess knowledge and skills of the equipment, methods, materials, practices, and tools used in the Locksmith trade.\r\nKnowledge of the common hazards and practice of the necessary safety precautions in the use of power tools and equipment consistent with the Locksmith trade.\r\nAbility to follow written and oral instructions, diagrams, and manufacturer's manuals.\r\nAbility to maintain good interpersonal relationships\r\nMust be able to maintain/control a master key system\r\nMust have knowledge and be familiar with Access Control systems\r\nMust know how to use major computer operating systems (Word, Excel, Google) and work order systems.\r\n\r\nMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES\r\n\r\nResponsible for completing locksmith and related duties necessary to keep the District physical facilities in good repair and in use for their intended purpose.\r\nPrepares all assigned tasks to insure the effective, safe, and efficient completion of job assignment.\r\nOrders parts, materials after determining needs and requirements for assigned job.\r\nInstalls, maintains, and repairs all locks, door hardware, and key distribution in a safe and secure manner.\r\nCuts keys as needed after approval.\r\nMaintain inventory of repair parts and maintain appropriate records of key control.\r\nResponds to emergency call-outs, as required. (7 days a week/24 hours a day)\r\nMay be required to work night and/or varying shifts.\r\nKeeps vehicle supplied with tools and materials.\r\nFollows all safety regulations related to any and all trade areas.\r\nPerforms other general maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor, including but not limited to:\r\nResponding to and assisting with emergency or crisis situations.\r\n\r\nType of Equipment Used\r\nLadders, scaffolding, safety eye goggles, small hand tools, various power tools and equipment necessary to perform required tasks.\r\nAudio/Visual Demands\r\nMust have\r\n\r\nAverage hearing\r\nCorrected 20/20 vision\r\nGood depth perception\r\nAbility to distinguish between colors\r\n\r\nWork Environment\r\n\r\nRequired to use chemicals\r\nNoise levels are normal\r\nSome outside work\r\nWork inside with and without air-conditioning, depending on the facility requirements\r\nWork alone as well as with team members\r\n\r\nPersonal Protective Equipment\r\n\r\nRubber gloves and goggles are required when working with any chemicals.\r\nBack support belts should be worn when lifting.\r\n\r\nRequired Training\r\n\r\n1st day orientation - Hazardous Communications/MSDS/Fire Safety/Proper Lifting Techniques/Eye Safety.\r\nWithin (90) days will attend a 2-hour Asbestos Training Awareness.\r\nOngoing Staff Development.\r\n\r\nWORKING CONDITIONS\r\nThe usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following: ability to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity work environment efficiently and effectively with frequent interruptions. Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting, reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer.
