Together, we advance your career.\nResponsibilities:\nJob Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring PMTS Software Development Engineers to: Research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Plan, design, develop and/or test software systems for software enhancements and new products. Set operational specifications and formulate and/or analyze software requirements. Develop and optimize low-level GPU kernels to accelerate inference and training of large machine learning models. Maximize the computational efficiency and reduce execution time while ensuring model accuracy. Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance. Design and implement strategies for distributed model training and inference across multiple GPUs and nodes. Address data parallelism and model parallelism challenges to fully utilize available resources. Exercise wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments. Participate in code reviews, creating unit tests, authoring detailed documentation related to your work, and working with on-site and offshore teams to deliver the software solutions on schedule. Partake in all phases of the software development including system requirements analysis, coordinating feature design and development across functional and organization boundaries. Utilize expertise with computers and electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
