As a Maintenance Mechanic, you'll be responsible for applying Ecolab standards, and ensuring safe, sustainable, and efficient operations to maintain plant equipment and infrastructure. You will participate in essential TPM tasks, including safety and environmental procedures, progressive quality initiatives, autonomous maintenance, focused improvement, preventive maintenance, and 5S practices.How You'll Make an Impact:Understand and comply with SH&E standards, actively promote safe and responsible behavior, and positively challenge any unsafe practices by completing monthly safety observationsProactively propose and implement improvements to existing work practices and quality of productsLook for and record non-conformances on equipment and report to Maintenance ManagerContribute to root cause analysis and develop solutions to help with quality managementMonitor effectiveness of maintenance activities to maximize equipment availabilityImplement continuous improvement activities via problem solving or tagging activities, contribute fully to TPM improvement teams, and promote a culture of continuous improvementFollow standard maintenance procedures, proposing and implementing improvements, and ensuring timely completion of all maintenance tasks. These tasks may consist of electrical, welding, plumbing, troubleshooting on filler equipment, tank and pipes, and part replacements as well as PLC programmingComplete all planned and preventative maintenance tasks on-time including timely escalation of potential issues to engineering teamPropose new preventative maintenance tasks or updates for the existing preventative maintenance tasksCarry out safe and effective equipment repairs, including urgent breakdown repairsPerform other duties as assignedPosition Details:Plant Location: Asheville, North CarolinaWork Week & Shift: Weekend shift: Friday - Sunday, 7:00AM-7:00PMCompensation:$25/hr Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma, GED or equivalent2 years of experience working in an industrial maintenance environment1 year of experience with electronic and PLC based applications in an industrial environment1 year of experience with electrical and mechanical systems in an industrial environmentNo immigration sponsorship available for this role Preferred Qualifications:2 years of mechanical experience in a chemical plant4 years of industrial experience1 year of experience with tools, procedures and methods utilized in an industrial maintenance environmentExperience working with pumps, welding, bearings, electrical safety, forklifts, gears, hydraulics, valves, and riggingFormal vocational training in an industrial engineering disciplineStrong attention to detail and communication skillsExperience working in a TPM environmentAbility to track safety, quality, and productivity dataExperience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment Physical Requirements of Position:Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds chest highKneeling, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, and reaching above and below waist levelWorking in a chemical processing plant with variable temperatures, odors, noise levels, elevated heights, and/or confined spaces Ecolab is committed to providing reasonable accommodation to qualified individuals with a disability.
