Represents the company in communication and coordination with customers and suppliers.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.Independently completes project activity as delegated by the Engineering Team Lead or Engineering Manager. Projects can be either product/process improvement or production design process improvement. Contributes ideas for further improvementsCompletes work on each project respecting adherence to design standards. All work must be completed in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. Manages multiple projects at various stages of Engineering process including:Customer Coordination and CommunicationInitial Project Sketch / Drawing and AnalysisApproval Drawings Review and Submittals to CustomerApproval Drawing Returned from CustomerRevisions and Project Change DocumentsFinal Detail Drawing Checking and ApprovalsCalculation Packets- Analysis for SubmittalsCalculates project cost changes and scope changes and communicating those cost changes to Sales or Project Management to negotiate with customerMaintains and updates Project Database for respective projectsProvides guidance and technical support to Project Manager, Detailers and DraftersIndependently completes complex production designs through utilization of design standards and tools in a 3D CAD modeling environment, often working outside the scope of the toolsQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or ExperienceBachelors degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or Architectural Sciences is requiredCompletion of Fundamentals of Engineering exam1-3 years of experience using AutoCAD 2016 or Higher3D modeling software knowledge required2-5 years of applicable experience in material handling equipment product and process design desiredProfessional Engineering license is desiredOther SkillsAbility to work independently when solving problems, but using good judgment in seeking guidance where appropriate.Ability to communicate with other internal departments: Drafting, Sales and Project ManagementAbility to understand information such as bills of material, drawings, design data and design standardsProficiency with Microsoft Office toolsLanguage SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as technical specifications, professional journals, and blueprints. Ability to write reports and documentation. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, customers and other employees of the organization.Mathematical SkillsAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
