About the CompanyWe are seeking a Principal Deltek Costpoint Functional Consultant to serve as a senior functional leader and trusted advisor for government contracting clients. This role is ideal for a Costpoint professional with 10+ years of hands-on experience who have led multiple Costpoint implementations or have deep experience supporting internal and client project teams to complete related implementation activities.About the RoleAs a Consultant, you’ll guide clients through complex GovCon requirements, training and mentor consulting teams, supporting multiple engagements in a diverse project portfolio. This role is client-facing and will support solving complex problems, working directly with clients, and advising senior leadership across multiple organizations. As an ERP solutions team, this candidate should have general knowledge of other industry specific ERP and accounting solutions.ResponsibilitiesLead functional design and configuration for Deltek Costpoint implementations, upgrades, and optimization projectsServe as the primary functional point of contact for assigned clients (client-facing)Translate business, accounting, and compliance requirements into Costpoint configuration and process designLead discovery workshops, design sessions, and solution walkthroughs with client stakeholdersGuide clients on GovCon best practices, DCAA compliance, FAR/DFARS, CAS, and audit readinessOversee functional testing, UAT support, and issue resolutionReview and mentor work performed by junior consultantsCollaborate with project managers to manage scope, risks, and client expectationsConfigure and support core Costpoint modules including GL, Project Accounting, Time & Expense, Billing, Labor/Leave, AP, and AR to include:Company Setup ActivitiesAccounts / Organization StructuresCustomers, VendorsProject Setup & ConfigurationProject Structures, Revenue & Billing Formulas, Funding, Ceilings, etc.Support billing setup and processes, including:Contract types such as T&M, CPFF, and Fixed Price (FP)Ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract requirementsCost pool structures, allocations and processingRevenue ProcessingRevenue RedistributionProject TransfersOrganizational ChangesStandard Project Related ReportsHistorical Information / Prior Year History / Cumulative Values / Beginning BalancesLabor and Leave ProcessingLabor and Leave ConfigurationsADP / Third-party integrationsTransactional processing for Labor and LeaveEmployee SetupMaterials Management (Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Receiving)Financial Statements and ReconciliationsMulti-company, multi-org, and intercompany Costpoint configurationsGeneral Business Intelligence Usage (Cognos)Other Key Responsibilities:Support reporting and analytics needs, including Cognos (preferred)Develop and enhance project reporting, providing actionable insights for program and financial managementSupport month-end close processes, including:Account reconciliationsUnbilled analysis and reconciliationAssist with leave setup and configuration, and troubleshoot related system issuesProvide hands-on training and guidance to accounting and finance teamsAct as a trusted business advisor, delivering practical, compliant, and scalable solutionsWork directly with senior leadership, providing clear recommendations on system setup, accounting practices, and process improvements aligned with industry standards (FAR/DCAA)Leverage advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reconciliations, and reportingIdentify inefficiencies and implement process improvements and best practicesManage multiple client engagements simultaneously in a fast-paced consulting environmentQualifications10+ years of hands-on Deltek Costpoint functional experience specifically related to implementation.Deep expertise in Deltek Costpoint (implementation, configuration, or advanced user experience)Strong background in government contractor accounting (FAR, DCAA compliance)Experience leading Costpoint implementations or major enhancement initiativesDeep knowledge of project accounting, labor processing, billing, and revenue recognitionAbility to lead client-facing discussions and provide strategic guidanceAffective communication skills with the ability to engage both technical teams and executive leadershipStrong documentation, communication, and organizational skillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, etc.)Proven ability to operate effectively in a client-facing environmentAnalytical, detail-oriented, and solutions-drivenRequired SkillsBachelor’s or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)Consulting experience supporting multiple clientsExperience with Cognos Analytics reporting & dashboards (Costpoint Business Intelligence)Experience with Costpoint Extensibility, workflows, and approvalsExposure to Deltek Time & Expense, Vantagepoint, or Subcontractor ManagementExperience in a consulting or multi-client environmentExperience supporting system implementations or migrationsFamiliarity with data analytics or dashboarding
