In the 2024-2025 school year, Magnolia Project is scaling our work to serve 400 students across 13 schools in the North Bay.\nWe are looking for a Programs Associate to work with our Director of Industry Partnerships and Director of Schools and Students to help facilitate the running of our programs, including liaising with schools, industry partners, procuring supplies, and supporting our back-office.\nThis position is designed for someone who is interested in and passionate about both working with middle and high school students, and learning about what it’s like to work at an emerging, fast-paced non-profit organization. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about the Magnolia Project mission and vision, a positive team-player, a strong oral and written communicator, and excited to help support teachers and students throughout Magnolia Project’s Career Exploration and Apprenticeship pathways.\nResponsibilities of Programs Associate\nAssist the Director of Schools and Students with the planning, logistics and execution of Magnolia Project’s Pathways Programs that are fully embedded into the school day at 13 different school sites in the 2024-2025 school year.\nAssist with the training of teachers and administrators in Magnolia Project’s model, curriculum, and platform.\nAssist teachers with the use of Magnolia Project’s curriculum and technology platform\nServe as the point person at school sites for Magnolia Project Interview Days, and immersive Career Exploration experiences, and Community Events, leading the set-up, clean-up and facilitation of these events.\nCommunicate professionally with teachers, principals, school administrators, community partners and mentors about Magnolia Project’s Pathways via phone and email\nCoordinate, and participate in the logistics of the Middle School Career Exploration Program, including supplies purchasing and procurement, working with school sites to do set-up, riding in vans with students for drop-offs, pick-ups and other field trip activities\nFacilitate site visits and Visit Days for potential new school partners\nFacilitate the purchase of and distribution of supplies to students throughout our programs\nSupport the functioning of our back office through supplies procurement, filing, running errands and working closely with the Executive Director\nOther duties as assigned by the Director of Schools and Students, Director of Industry Partnerships and Executive Director\nKnowledge and Skills\nAn understanding, and support for the Magnolia Project mission, vision, programs and demographic data of communities and students we serve\nAn understanding of the Magnolia Project Pathway programs, including participation in one day site visit to Magnolia Project programs\nAn understanding of how to best communicate and work with 7th-12th grade students, public school teachers and administrators.\nPrior volunteer experience in schools or with youth is ideal but not required.\nAbility to:\nCommunicate professionally, confidently and positively with teachers, administrators, parents and students.\nBuild positive relationships with 7th-12th grade students in a variety of settings and contexts\nBuild positive and collaborative relationships with Magnolia project community partners, businesses, non-profits, other groups, and potential mentors\nManage the logistics of many different students and program sites, including supplies procurement\nConfidently lead or manage groups of 7th-10th graders in accomplishing a shared goal\nCreate comprehensive schedules for different school sites, and students\nFluently use Google Suite products: Google Docs, Drive, Sheets, Gmail, and other Google products to share, collaborate and upload data.\nCommunicate professionally in writing and orally\nWork collaboratively with the Director of Schools and Students and Director of Industry Partnerships to implement the Magnolia Project vision\nWork Structure\nWork will be completed at the Magnolia Project Office (1410 Neotomas Avenue, Suite 200, Santa Rosa, CA 95404) between the hours of 8:30 am-5:00 pm. The work schedule can be adjusted to meet the needs of the e\nTime Commitment & Pay\nStart date: Week of September 1st, 2024 (to be decided upon in discussion with the Magnolia Project Executive Director)\nApproximately 25-32 hours per week.
