This is a great opportunity to make a real impact on workplace safety while working with a team that values accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\nAbout this opportunity\nThe Safety Manager manages all aspects of Health and Safety of facility personnel through managing established health and safety programs.\nWhat you will do\nAt least 70% of time is required to be spent in the production environment performing standard work consisting of items listed below (not an all-inclusive list):\nWorkplace inspections\nRisk Assessments – New and Updating\nSafety Walks with Plant Leadership\nSafety Walks – Safety Team\nContractor Inspections\nProgrammed safety focused audits (TC Program based)\nManagement of Change (Machines, work areas, etc.)\nUpdating safety communications, and contractor safety boards\nManaging employee's safety concerns\nAt least 20% of time will be required to handle environmental tasks (if applicable at the site).\nRead/understand all permits.\nPerform weekly inspections Hazardous Waste Storage Area\nPerform Stormwater Inspections\nSign Waste Manifests\nPerform environmental/DOT training.\nPrepare and submit all required reports monthly/quarterly/semiannual/annually.\nChemical review for environmental impact\nGather/record all environmental data (Monthly air emissions, Oxidizer readings, etc.)\nPeriodic review of government websites for regulation changes\nBalance of time used for administrative tasks.\nLeads Safety Team (Agendas, Facilitate, Meeting Minutes, Corrective Action Completion)\nEnsures that local authorities, regulations, rules and codes, programs, and policies related to safety are observed. Including interfacing with authorities when required\nParticipates in the programs and policies corporate safety audit and follow up.\nReviews and updates plant documents complying with TC Corporate programs.\nEnsures that accident/injury investigations are completed, causes of incidents are identified and preventive action steps are completed, and effective over time. Directly participates in accident investigations whenever feasible.\nEnsures all safety documentation is maintained.\nIn coordination with Human Resources, ensures that all required safety training is developed, scheduled, and conducted and managed according to an established timeline.
