DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Compiles and maintains accurate individual and team performance recordsAssures the necessary set up and take down of equipment as well as maintaining a clean facilityAttends meetings scheduled by the Athletic DirectorComplies with rules, regulations, and policies of the district, athletic conference, and O.S.A.A.Educates student athletes and assistant coaches in safety procedures including the need to report injuries immediately to coach/trainerFosters team building conceptsImplements appropriate procedures for handling injury situations; ensures the availability of a properly supplied first aid kit and emergency care cards at all timesIssues, collects, inventories, and stores equipment in a safe and secure locationModels positive and professional characteristics and conductMonitors athletes' school attendance, grades, and personal conductMotivates individuals and the team, both on and off the playing field/courtPlans, organizes, and implements the teaching fundamentals, strategies, and rules of an assigned sportProvides assistance at contests or events not associated with assigned sport and attends fundraising eventsStays knowledgeable of changing rules, techniques, and philosophies relevant to the assigned sportSupervises practices and contests including locker rooms and busesRides buses to and from away eventsComposes and distributes media releasesDirects activities of assistantsCoordinates off-season physical conditioning programsRecruits students for participation in sportPerforms other duties as assigned QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:Knowledge of rules, regulations, and policies of the district, athletic conferences, and O.S.A.A.Excellent interpersonal communication skillsAbility to work with disgruntled adults and studentsAbility to work with frequent interruptionsCPR/First Aid Certificate requiredValid Oregon driver licenseASEP CertifiedClearance of a criminal background check and fingerprinting
