Work various shifts as part of a 24/7 coverage team and obtain the ability to translate business and operation requirements into technical requirements.\n\nEngineering & Support\n\nActs as Tier 1 support for all on‑air broadcast systems.\n\nFollows standard operating procedures and documentation to support the operations team in a 24/7 environment.\n\nRegular on‑site attendance at the workplace a minimum of 4 days per week is an essential function of the position. Selected candidate must be able to reliably meet this requirement.\n\nBuilds and maintains FOX’s compression & transport infrastructure.\n\nConducts lab, performance and system tests and prototype efforts that can continually evolve FOX’s architecture and infrastructure.\n\nCollaboration & Partnerships\n\nSupports the Media Control Center in day‑to‑day operations and assist users with technical issues or concerns.\n\nPartners with the Engineering and Standards & Advanced Technology teams to develop groundbreaking technology solutions for challenging business issues.\n\nCollaborates with engineering teams, operations teams, and third‑party vendors to develop long‑term strategy, product development and implementation road maps.\n\nPerformance Improvement\n\nKnows data is critical to making informed business decisions and uses it to understand and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your already amazing team's performance.\n\nAnalyzes dashboards and constantly optimizes system security and testing, minimizing bugs making it to final products.\n\nPrioritizes the use of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to motivate the team.\n\nPeople Management & Development\n\nEmbodies a culture of continuous learning, especially in emerging technologies.\n\nIs motivated by being part of a high performing team and delivering high quality products.\n\nEnjoys learning from and coaching others.\n\nWHAT YOU WILL NEED\n\nMaintain and troubleshoot compressed and uncompressed workflows.\n\nMPEG/JPEG decoding, encoding, transcoding, processing, multiplexing, encryption, decryption, uplink/downlink processes, master control, etc.\n\nBuild strong knowledge of SCTE insertion systems, media contribution/distribution.\n\nHave familiarity with on‑prem test and measurement platforms - acquire the ability to work effectively across different projects and teams.\n\nAdvanced maintenance of Satellite and linear distribution, architecture/deploying, monitoring, alerting, and/or data analysis.\n\nLead new projects, collaborate with various teams, test and validation of new systems.\n\nConducting lab, performance and system tests and prototype efforts that can continually evolve FOX’s architecture and infrastructure of the SMPTE 2110 suite of standards.\n\nExpert knowledge of SDI video transport and familiar with new video codecs and compression i.e. SRT, RTP, Zixi, HLS etc.\n\nNICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER\n\nBachelor’s Degree or equivalent practical experience in Engineering, IT, Computer Science or related Tech field.\n\nAdvanced knowledge of video compression & codecs, such as SMPTE ST‑2110, JPEGXS, HEVC.\n\nKnowledge and experience with emerging technologies such as 4K High Dynamic Range, and HDR10+ is a plus.\n\nKnowledge of industry standards such as Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) and Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE).\n\nWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
