Refrigeration Compliance Specialist
DescriptionThe purpose of this position is to be a point of contact (POC) and subject matter expert (SME) for Publix's refrigeration program, including refrigerant tracking software, statistical analysis, and technical, regulatory compliance auditing. This position has the critical responsibility of ensuring Publix is following federal regulations including but not limited to the Clean Air Act and the American Innovation & Manufacturing (AIM) Act.Responsibilities IncludeEnsuring the accuracy of refrigerant tracking and oversee timely issue resolution for all emission incidents and routine maintenance activities, supporting Publix’s compliance with federal regulations and contributing to effective event management, data analysis, and program auditing.Managing responses to regulatory violations and implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance, while monitoring EPA regulations to support Publix’s refrigerant emissions program as the SME and primary point of contact for compliance auditing, event management, and federal regulatory adherence.Auditing all events within the refrigerant tracking software to ensure data accuracy, support compliance auditing efforts, and providing reliable information for event management and regulatory analysis as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for Publix’s refrigerant emissions program.Conducting routine audits and preparing quarterly reports to ensure the accuracy of refrigerant emissions data, supporting compliance auditing requirements, and providing essential insights for event management and regulatory analysis as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for Publix’s refrigerant emissions program.Required QualificationsHigh School diploma or its equivalent2 years of experience in an environmental and/or refrigeration specific and/or analytical positionIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft WordBasic knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and ExcelPreferred QualificationsAssociate’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Health or other science related or analytical discipline4 years’ experience in a refrigeration-specific or analytical positionComprehensive understanding of refrigeration in a supermarket environment.Full understanding of the EPA requirements that apply to Publix in the Retail environment.Knowledge of all positions that impact the role and your ability to complete your work.Experience using Facilio Benefits InformationEmployee stock ownership plan that contributes Publix stock to associates each year at no costAn opportunity to purchase additional shares of our privately-held stock401(k) retirement savings planGroup health, dental and vision plans planPaid Time OffPaid Parental LeaveShort- and long-term disability insuranceTuition reimbursementFree hot lunches (buffet-style) at facilities with a cafeteriaVisit our website to see all of our benefits: https://jobs-beta.publix.com/benefits/Year End BonusTo reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check.
