The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining and modernizing enterprise applications, optimizing SQL Server databases, and working closely with development teams to migrate legacy applications to modern platforms.Key responsibilities:Support application modernization initiatives for enterprise applications.Design, develop, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.Analyze and improve application and database performance.Troubleshoot application and SQL Server-related issues in development, testing, and production environments.Collaborate with developers, architects, business analysts, and infrastructure teams.Participate in application migrations, upgrades, and modernization efforts.Perform database tuning, indexing, query optimization, and performance monitoring.Develop and maintain technical documentation.Support deployment activities and production releases.Ensure security, reliability, and scalability of applications and databases.Required Qualifications:5+ years of experience as an Application Engineer, Application Developer, or similar role.Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.Experience writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and triggers.Experience with SQL Server performance tuning and optimization.Experience supporting enterprise applications.Knowledge of application modernization and legacy application migration.Experience with source control tools such as Git or Azure DevOps.Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with .NET/C# applications.Experience with Azure SQL, Azure App Services, or other Azure cloud technologies.Experience with CI/CD pipelines.Familiarity with REST APIs and web services.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Compensation:$55/hr - $60/hrThis is the targeted compensation range for this role. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location.
