Differential paid, must use language daily as a part of work.\n\nResponsibilities:\nEnsure the satisfactory and safe functioning of the Domestic Violence Emergency Residence during the overnight hours.\nCarry out program routines, practices, and procedures.\nLight duty cleaning of the shelter.\nAnswer phones including the Unity House Domestic Violence Hotline.\nAnswer incoming calls from the NYS Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault/PREA Hotlines if necessary.\nEngage in ongoing victim-centered and trauma-informed interactions with program residents.\nProvide crisis intervention when necessary.\nComplete all necessary reports and paperwork.\nPromote a culture of inclusion and belonging.\n\nRequirements:\nCollege degree preferred. Must have a High School/GED and 1-2 years previous experience working with victims of domestic violence or a similar population. Must have reliable transportation. Please have a valid NYS driver license.\n\nBenefits:\nGenerous time off benefits including 13 paid days off in your first year for full time employment (increases every year); and 56 hours of NYS Sick Leave; and 10 paid holidays plus 2 floating holidays; as well as major medical leave.
