We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented individual with strong technical aptitude to join our Scotia operations team. While this is not a traditional IT support role, it requires someone who is comfortable working with technology and understands computer hardware.\nPosition Summary:\nThe IT Asset Processing Technician is responsible for securely processing electronic assets, sanitizing data-bearing devices, performing diagnostic testing, and maintaining accurate asset records. Approximately 80% of the position is based at our Scotia processing facility, with up to 20% of the work week spent traveling throughout the Capital Region to perform secure on-site asset serialization and data destruction services at customer locations. This position requires professionalism, attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to work independently while representing EWASTE+ in a customer-facing environment.\nKey Responsibilities:\nPerform secure data sanitization on hard drives, SSDs, and other electronic data-bearing devices using approved software and procedures.\nAccurately serialize and document electronic assets while maintaining chain-of-custody records.\nProcess electronic assets and perform secure data destruction at the Scotia processing facility.\nPerform diagnostic testing and basic hardware troubleshooting to determine device functionality, identify failed components, and verify system configurations.\nIdentify and document computer hardware specifications and configurations.\nTravel to customer locations (up to 20% of the work week) throughout the Capital Region to perform on-site asset serialization and secure data destruction services.\nMaintain inventory accuracy and asset tracking throughout the processing lifecycle.\nRepresent EWASTE+ professionally while working directly with customers.\nFollow all company safety, security, and compliance procedures.\n\nTechnical Skills & Qualifications:\nStrong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn new technology and software.\nExperience working with desktops, laptops, servers, networking equipment, tablets, mobile devices, and other electronic hardware.\nWorking knowledge of computer hardware, networking fundamentals, and common IT equipment.\nAbility to identify computer components and understand hardware specifications.\nExperience performing diagnostic testing and basic hardware troubleshooting to identify faulty components and verify device functionality.\nFamiliarity with hard drives, solid-state drives (SSDs), and other electronic data-bearing devices.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.\n\nPreferred Experience:\nExperience in one or more of the following is preferred:\nComputer repair or hardware diagnostics\nElectronics recycling or IT Asset Disposition (ITAD)\nWarehouse operations involving electronic equipment\nAsset tracking or inventory management\nCustomer-facing service roles\n\nFormal IT certifications or a college degree are not required.
