In this role, you will contribute to the design and testing of mechanical components and systems that support Zolo's combustion monitoring platforms. This is a unique opportunity to gain practical industry experience and contribute to real-world solutions.\r\nYou will work closely with other engineers and cross-functional teams to implement and support mechanical designs that interface with electronics, instrumentation, and deployed systems. The focus of this role is supporting manufacturing, service, and ongoing product improvements.\r\nThis position is well suited for mechanical engineers interested in systems-oriented development and hardware-adjacent mechanisms, working primarily from an office with occasional hybrid flexibility.\r\nWhat You\\'ll Work On Mechanical designs supporting laser-based combustion monitoring systems used in industrial applications\r\nMechanical components that interface with sensors, instruments, and hardware subsystems\r\nIterative improvements informed by testing, service feedback, and product priorities\r\nKey Responsibilities Core Engineering Responsibilities Design and test reliable mechanical components and systems, following established design practices.\r\nImplement mechanical design features and enhancements based on defined requirements and design guidance.\r\nContribute to documentation and testing to support long-term maintainability.\r\nSystems & Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with hardware/software engineers, systems integration, service, and production teams to support integrated solutions.\r\nAssist with hardware--software integration and internal validation efforts.\r\nEngineering Practices & Growth Write clear and well-documented design documentation.\r\nFollow established design development standards and contribute to continuous improvement of tools and practices.\r\nGrow technical skills through collaboration with more experienced engineers and exposure to real-world systems.\r\nQualifications Required Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (at least 3rd year undergraduate or recent graduate).\r\nProficiency in 3D CAD SolidWorks.\r\nInterest in manufacturing, product design, and process improvement.\r\nPrevious experience with fiber optics (desirable).\r\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\r\nAbility to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively with a team.\r\nClear written and verbal communication skills.\r\nLocation This role is based in Louisville, CO .\r\nTravel is not expected and would be limited to rare, planned occasions if needed.\r\nWhat We Offer Flexible hybrid work arrangements\r\nOpportunity to work on meaningful industrial technology used in real-world operations\r\nCollaborative, supportive engineering culture\r\nProfessional development and growth opportunities\r\nHow to Apply Interested candidates should send their resume and a brief cover letter describing their interest and relevant experience to careers@zolotech.com .\r\nPlease include \"Mechanical Engineering Intern Application\" in the subject line.\r\nZolo Carbon Smartech is an equal opportunity employer.
