Volunteer Opportunity: Cantonese Translator

Role DescriptionWe are seeking a Cantonese Translator to assist our program with translating essential materials and supporting communication between our bilingual volunteers, staff, and community partners.The translator will help ensure that all participants—especially those who are monolingual in Cantonese—can fully engage in our trainings, orientations, and community events. We are specifically looking for someone who is available to provide translation services on the second Wednesday of each month from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.ResponsibilitiesProvide verbal translation during meetings, orientations, or volunteer trainings as neededCollaborate with program staff to ensure translations are accurate and culturally appropriateMaintain confidentiality and sensitivity when handling program or participant informationHelp translate written materials (e.g., forms, flyers, orientation packets, announcements)QualificationsFluent in Cantonese (reading, writing, and speaking)Comfortable communicating in EnglishReliable, detail-oriented, and culturally sensitivePrior translation experience (preferred but not required)Passionate about serving the community and supporting older adults
