Do you have what it takes to Be Calspan?\r\nResponsibilitiesImplement and support software solutions: Configure, deploy, and maintain Linux-based DACS applications for engine test systems, ensuring seamless operation across data acquisition, control, and instrumentation interfaces.\r\nTroubleshoot complex environments: Diagnose and resolve software, network, or hardware-communication issues during system installation, commissioning, and active test campaigns ensuring reliability and performance.\r\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with controls, software, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure software applications meet project requirements and integrate effectively with the DACS environment and facility specifications.\r\nDevelop tools and enhancements: Apply scripting and programming familiarity (e.g., Python, C/C++, LabVIEW), to DACS utilities and interfaces to automate testing, data processing, diagnostic workflows, and troubleshooting support.\r\nEngage with customers: Provide on-site and remote support for engine test facilities. Train operators and engineers to understand and optimize DACS functionality.\r\nDocument, standardize, and drive continuous improvement: Maintain configuration files, documentation, deployment notes, and gather field insights to drive usability, features, and maintainability improvements in collaboration with software development teams.\r\nQualificationsPreferred Education / Experience:\r\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, or related discipline\r\n1-2+ years of experience in software development, integration, or applications support (co-op or internship experience considered).\r\nTechnical Skills:\r\nFamiliarity with data acquisition systems, sensors, and control hardware (PLC, PXI, NI, etc.).\r\nProficiency with at least one programming language, C, C++, LabVIEW, Python, or similar\r\nExperience with logic controllers or similar programmable computer devices/resources\r\nAbility to read wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings\r\nAbility or experience with electro-mechanical systems\r\nComfortable working hands-on in a lab or test cell setting\r\nPreferred Knowledge / Ability:\r\nExperience with Linux environments (Bash, Git, Make/CMake)\r\nFamiliarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)\r\nExperience in structural programming, controls, data acquisition, and/or jet engine testing preferred\r\nKnowledge of communication protocols & analysis (TCP/IP, ARINC 429, MIL-1553, CANBUS, Modbus, Wireshark)\r\nOther Requirements:\r\nValid driver's license & passport (international travel required)\r\nMust be a US Person\r\nAbility to travel up to 25%\r\nWhy join Calspan?\r\nBe Calspan Culture At Calspan, we promote an environment that empowers employees and encourages innovation.
