Architectural Designer + Project Manager

Were in search of someone that can help us build on this reputation in a fun and collaborative environment.This is a job for someone whos excited to take on diverse design prompts and help manage projects as they progress from concept to installation. The day to day responsibilities are constantly changing. This isnt the place where youll spend two-weeks doing the same thing (no window schedules!)Projects range from one-off furniture pieces to large-scale architectural installations that feature hand-crafted wood, metal, glass, kinetic elements, and lighting to name a few.*Responsibilities:*Work with Principal on design developmentCreate shop-ready fabrication drawingsWork with shop staff to QC projects under constructionSite visits for surveying and installation assistanceHelp with estimating new workMarketing assistance - graphic design, photography oversight, website updates, client presentations, etc.Communicate with design partners to clarify details, submit RFIs, etc.Help manage projects - work with the project team to source materials, select vendors, and ensure projects stay on schedule and budget.*Qualifications:*Minimum 3-years of experience in physical design (metal or wood shops, architecture, furniture, ID, or equivalent).Minimum of 2 years of experience creating shop drawings and interacting with a fabrication team. **NOTE: With complete respect for detailed architectural drawings, we are only looking for someone who has direct experience working with fabricators and creating fabrication-ready drawings**Expertise working in Rhino and/or Fusion 360. Other 3d modeling programs are a plus.Insatiable appetite for learning about new processes, new materials, and new tools.A flexible personality, capable of switching quickly between projects and working with unknowns.A knack for problem solving and creating elegant design solutions.Stellar written and verbal communication skills.Capable of traveling to job sites around the Bay Area.Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship at this time.*Bonus points:*Deep understanding of the material properties of steel, aluminum, and wood.Comprehensive knowledge of wood and metal fabrication.Fluent in Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.Graphic design experience.Experience exporting for CNC - both 2D cut lines, and 3D shapes.This position is based out of our San Francisco office.
