Knowing large-scale datastore bottlenecks, asynchronous application design and client-server architecture will help you.\n\nWhat You’ll be Doing\nThird‑Party Patch Packaging & Content Development\nBuild high‑quality software packages for our patching platform, including installer metadata, detection logic, and automation scripts.\nAnalyze vendor installers (MSI, EXE, custom frameworks) to determine silent install parameters, upgrade behavior, and OS compatibility.\nAutomatically detect new software versions from vendor websites.\nDevelop endpoint‑side scripts to download, install, upgrade, and verify third‑party applications.\nStrategic Research & Standards Development\nResearch vendor release patterns, installer technologies, and best practices for secure and reliable patching.\nDefine and maintain packaging standards that improve consistency, reliability, and security across all supported applications.\nContinuously enhance our package catalog to reflect evolving IT and security requirements.\nFrontline Automation & Rapid Response\nBuild one‑off or urgent automation scripts in response to emerging vulnerabilities, vendor changes, or customer needs.\nTroubleshoot packaging issues, installer failures, and automation edge cases.\nPartner with Support and Engineering teams to resolve customer‑impacting issues quickly and effectively.\nOther duties as needed\n\nAbout You\n3+ years of experience installing, maintaining, configuring, and automating software on Windows, Mac, and Linux.\n3+ years of experience scripting in PowerShell (Bash or Python a plus).\nStrong understanding of installer technologies (MSI, InstallShield, NSIS, Inno Setup, custom EXEs).\nExperience with software packaging for RMM, SCCM, Intune, or similar endpoint management platforms.\nAbility to break down complex installer behavior and build reliable silent install/upgrade workflows.\nFamiliarity with secure configuration baselines and the challenges IT teams face in maintaining them.\nExperience with source control and interacting with REST APIs.\nA passion for problem‑solving and building automation that scales.\n\nAbout Us\nNinjaOne unifies IT to simplify work for more than 35,000 customers in 140+ countries.
