We believe in these words so much that it's written on the walls in our center.What Are We Looking For?We are looking for a part-time Coding Instructor to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our Senseis are the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas center. As a Sensei, you'll create an engaging, supportive environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help ignite a passion for technology and innovation in students of all backgrounds. This role offers a flexible schedule perfect for passionate educators or tech enthusiasts eager to make a positive impact while sharing their knowledge.Responsibilities Include:Coach and mentor kids in coding and STEM curriculum, including JavaScript, C#, Unity, Godot, block-based languages, Minecraft, and moreCreate a positive and safe environment in which students can growManage classroom environments effectively, ensuring safety, organization, and positive behaviorFacilitate hands-on activities involving computer programming, robotics, and technology projectsFollow opening/closing duties dailyComplete training courses on our coding curriculumPerform extra duties as needed, including organizing and maintaining center equipment and facilitiesLead engaging coding camps for multiple age groups, guiding students through hands-on projects while creating a fun, supportive learning environmentPick up students from local schools and walk over to our centerProvide homework support to studentsReport as needed to the Lead Sensei and Program Manager with respect to the day's activities and productivity in the dojoQualifications:Working history with children ages 7 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring etc.)Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a respectful and inclusive environmentCoding and technology skills: knowledgeable about, or willingness to learn, introductory concepts in JavaScript and Godot. Skills in Minecraft, Roblox, robotics, or 3D printing a plus.Looking for individuals who seek ways to contribute rather than waiting to be told.Demonstrated experience with children ages 5-14 in babysitting, childcare, mentoring, coaching, tutoring, etc.Knowledge of coding & technology and computer science concepts such as data structures, algorithms, discrete math, and machine learning is highly desirableWorks well with others; collaboratesMust like working in fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequentlyFamiliarity with special education strategies or working with diverse learning needs is a plusStrong verbal and written communication skillsMust be fun, and able to help our ninjas have fun too!Join us in inspiring the next generation of young coders and innovators!
