Description:JOB SUMMARYMake your application after reading the following skill and qualification requirements for this position.The Swimming Instructor is responsible for teaching a class and or special events in a safe and fun environment as outlined by the Director/Coordinator. Raise the participant’s self-esteem and confidence.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure the safety of children in the class at all timesWork and directly communicate with all the club directors and coordinatorsEffectively and enthusiastically teach skills to students, abiding by the lesson plans as closely as possibleEnsure implementation of all safety standards and cleaning proceduresStrive to improve the present level of business through all current customer policiesConstantly maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the facilityMaintain professional appearance and conduct himself/herself at all times in accordance with business standards found in the employee handbookObtain and maintain certifications necessary for the specific program classesContinue to develop professional status through continued training and educationAssist in the development of new service plans aimed at increasing the quality of our programsUnderstand lesson plans and prepare yourself to instruct students on the proper way to execute skills and activitiesArrive 15 minutes before your scheduled class timeGreet students as they enter and leave the facilityStay after you class to speak with parents who may have questions or concerns, and to clean up the areaAlways be in control of your students and manage your class effectivelyHandouts must go out on time, it is your responsibility to read handouts and know informationBehave as a role model for your students, act professionallyEducate and communicate student progressions with parentsUnderstand each student is an individual and is important, regardless of abilityAttend staff meetings as scheduledCheck mailbox, bulletin board, and weekly reader during every scheduled shiftKeep accurate records and submit all required class reports to the Director/Coordinator xaygatp Requirements:REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESMust have specific class knowledgeExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsThorough knowledge and application of teaching techniques relevant to the classAn understanding of facility policies, procedures, and rulesLeadership qualities and public relation skillsREQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCESwimAmerica Level 1 Certifications as required to teach the specific classesSwimAmerica Level 2 Certification as required to teach the specific classesAmerican Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
