Fitter Apprentice (Union)
Job DescriptionAs a Fitter Apprentice here at Honeywell, you will embark on a hands-on learning journey to develop your skills in fitting, assembling, and maintaining mechanical components and systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and technical knowledge in a dynamic industrial environment, setting the foundation for a successful career in mechanical trades.You will report directly to our Sr Field Service Manager and you’ll work out of our Manchester, NH location on an On-site work schedule.This is a UNION role.In this role, you will impact the efficiency and reliability of our production and maintenance operations by ensuring that mechanical assemblies and equipment are installed and maintained to the highest standards, contributing to overall operational excellence.ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIESAssist with installing HVAC systems including furnaces, boilers, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, piping, and controlsSupport maintenance and repair tasks such as cleaning components, replacing filters, belts, and basic partsLearn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manualsUse hand tools and power tools safely and effectivelyAssist with system testing, start‑up, and troubleshooting under supervisionMaintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at job sitesFollow all OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulationsCommunicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and customersComplete required apprenticeship classroom training and courseworkAccurately document work performed, materials used, and training hoursQualificationsYOU MUST HAVEHigh school diploma or GEDHVAC Certification or enrollment in or eligibility for a registered HVAC apprenticeship program in New HampshireBasic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn a skilled tradeAbility to follow instructions and collaborate effectively within a team environmentValid driver’s license and reliable transportationPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs regularlyAbility to work in confined spaces, on ladders, rooftops, and in varying weather conditionsAbility to stand, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periodsWE VALUEPrior experience in construction, mechanical work, or trade school courseworkBasic math skills and ability to measure accuratelyFamiliarity with hand and power toolsOSHA‑10 certification (or willingness to obtain)Benefits Of Working For HoneywellIn addition to a competitive salary, leading-edge work, and developing solutions side-by-side with dedicated experts in their fields, Honeywell employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.
