{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"295b7b478ccefd721365ca4e","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/295b7b478ccefd721365ca4e","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/295b7b478ccefd721365ca4e","title":"Mill Operator","description":"Job Title: Mill Operator\nDepartment: Production\n\nLocation: Turlock, CA\n\nFull/Part-Time: Full Time\n\nRegular/Temporary: Regular\n\nFLSA Status: Hourly (Non-Exempt)\n\nShift: Days\nSalary Range: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour.\n\nSUMMARY\n\nReporting to the Production Supervisor, the Mill Operator will perform semi-skilled labor with regard to all aspects of mill maintenance and operations ensuring optimization of production to manufacture feed.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\n\nEssential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:\nUtilize computer programmed batching system to receive and manufacture feed\nMaintain required documentation associated with all departments\nAfter appropriate training, operate all process equipment including powered industrial vehicles\nAssist in start-up and shut down of operations\nAssist in the troubleshooting of processes and equipment operation and provide in-put for corrective actions\nPerform general housekeeping of production area to meet OSHA standards, as well as a clean and safe working environment\nClimb ladders up to 100 feet to perform maintenance and inventory duties\nPerform quality duties including but not limited to sampling inbound and outbound loads as well as production paperwork\n\nADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nPerform related duties and/or special projects as assigned\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\n\nSkills & Competencies:\nMethods and techniques for safe work practices\nForklift operation and heavy machinery experience desired\nBasic recordkeeping practices\n\nAbility to:\n\nPerform daily safety inspections and identify safety hazards\nWork flexibly and varying work schedules including overtime as needed\nPerform basic mathematical problems (add, subtract, multiply, divide)\nWork independently with minimal supervision\nBuild and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and customers\nFollow written and verbal instructions; problem solve\nCommunicate effectively in English (verbal/written)\nContribute to a positive work environment\nDemonstrate good organization skills\nPerform troubleshooting on mill machinery\nComplete production paperwork and quality documents\n\nExperience and Training Guidelines:\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience\nOne (1) to two (2) years’ work experience in a warehouse/industrial/production environment\nAbility to lift/carry up to 55 pounds\nPrevious feed/agricultural experience desired\nBasic computer skills\nWork varying shifts including weekends, holidays and overtime\nSPECIAL DEMANDS\n\nPhysical requirements\nFrequent standing for long period of time\nFrequent bending, squatting and kneeling\nFrequent lifting and carrying of up to 55 pounds\nFrequent grasping, holding and reaching\nConstant use of overall vision\nFrequent hearing and talking in person; may be required to wear ear protection or hear in noisy conditions\nFrequent exposure to loud noise\nWorking conditions\nWork may be performed inside or outside in hot and cool temperatures and a noisy environment. May be exposure to loud noises and steam exhaust, and dusty, muddy and slick environment.
